Incase anyone is wondering about the progress of Mine Tycoon, it is currently on hold for a month or so. I recently started a new job in a coal mine to fund development of Mine Tycoon and other games.
Feel free to ask anything and I will be able to answer any questions you may have. :)
Thanks for playing our tech demo!
We are going over ideas for the main menu, one of which may be a moving background, of a mine at work.
The game mechanism will be where you set up tasks for your workers and then they complete them tasks based on their skills. So really good workers would be faster, safer, and less breakdowns. You will also have a avatar that you can walk around with, and get in equipment and dig.
The "leveling/upgrade system" will be comprised of new equipment, equipment attachments, new claims, trainable workers, better buildings.
Yes, The links are in the download section. :)
We are releasing the Tech Demo within the next 48 hours.
This is to search for bugs with terrain and textures.
Because we had to spend a few more weeks working with the terrain engine, we should be in full alpha end of July/August!
We have a lot of fun stuff planned for Alpha!
Thanks for your patience,
We are sorry for the delay in the release of Mine Tycoon, we are working to bring you a tech demo as quickly as possible.
We are trying to have something put together next week, so stay tuned!
Of course, we even encourage you to!
1. Alpha will be ready this coming week depending on anymore snags along the way.
2. Purchasing now will be cheaper and include all future updates (including full version).
If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask.
We will be a few days late, as we need to finish up some more terrain work before we can get the bulldozer set up to dig/plow dirt.
As of our Alpha release we will have:
1 Bulldozer to dig/plow with
Some basic assets
After these basic steps are done, we will be able to expand rapidly over the next few months. Adding new equipment and assets is a much faster process than set up voxel terrain and the basic core of the game.
Purchasing now will also be much cheaper, as we will be in Alpha a short time.
Android/IOS won't be out until end of Beta. We are expanding the PC game onto the Mobile with a twist by creating a Alert system.
You will be able to play on PC, log off, and have time continue and your workers work. Then if anything happens in your mine, like Idle workers, disasters, etc, you will be able to have a mobile alert, letting you know that something needs done. You will be able to do anything like that from the mobile. But for the most part, the game will have its most enjoyment on PC/MAC.
Hope you like the idea so far!
Price point is unknown at this time, but it will most likely start in the 10$ range, then increase up to 30$ closer to Full Release.
Alpha stage - 10$
Beta Stage - 20$
Full Release - 30$
All Alpha and Beta stages get full product, just at a lower price and help support us.
Should be around July of 2013.
We are currently testing the "digging" of the ground which should take a week or two. Once that is done, more GUI work and possibly a small "demo" with the bulldozer.
Once these Core fundamentals are done, it's just repetion with adding more equipment models. Which should be one model a week is what we are hoping for.
The release will include 4-5 bulldozers, excavators, loaders, and some wash plants. Then weekly updates of new equipment.
With the gameplay option we have chosen, you really won't be "striking it rich" at first, so your equipment choices would be limited by available money anyways. All starter equipment will be older and break down often.
You mean upgrade?
Vehicle/equipment purchases start with base configurations, then you are able to add on options, like different blades, buckets, and anything else that can be added on in real life.
I have farming simulator also, Its pretty good, but It gets too repetative and boring fast. Should be able to have help plow fields automaticly. :) I'm not sure if we are going to do steam, maybe though, as we havn't looked into all that yet. :)
Mobile will be google play store and app store.
As realistic as possible.
Water will need to be pumped into resivors, for holding, which you will dig, and layout. Then, you will be have to match your pump up to the correct wash plant you have. As you pump, water will drop and turn dirty from the run off from the washplant.
At full lunch, we will create a tutorial and most likely you will get a starter mine in which you learn the ropes. Not only will this game be realistic, but also educational, now the educational stuff will only be there to view, not forced. Once you learn the ropes to mine, you will then be able to buy neighboring mines, start fresh, or expand the starter mine. Each one has its own benefits and risks.
The game will also have you face difficult decissions, but in the event you screw up, badly, you can always take out a short term loan to help heal your mistake.
Now with the mining, and not knowing about the geological layout of the land, we are going to add an option that lets you bring in a geologist to come and map your underground to help. This will be where you set an area, it calculates the area footage and gives you a number figure that you have to pay. This may seem to take the fun out of it, but it is sometimes needed for mine survival. Also, players can have land drilled to find out the gold below.
About the future:
If Mine Tycoon becomes fairly popular, and the players generate enough interests, we will certainly venture into other forms of mining, whether its underground, or even coal and other minerals. What the future holds is up to everyone, so be sure to tell your friends to come support us. :)
You'll be able to feel what its like to be a miner, starting out on your own, or how ever you want to start. Also, were not affiliated with Gold Rush, just making a mining game. :)
I'm a few hundred Miles south. :) In the coal fields of PA. :)
what type of mine? :)
Thanks you for your support! We are also going to be launching a IndieGoGo for Mine Tycoon over the next few days to help with the starting cost for Unity, and a few needed add ons.
I'm a huge fan of the Tycoon games and espiecaly love the Roller Coaster series! I would love one day to remake them with the new things that can be done today! Example: Multi-Player Parks, Mobile, and various other features that would take it to the next level. Maybe I should start a IndieGoGO for us to buy the Roller Coaster franchise and get started on that aswell. :) If your reading this and havn't visited our Facebook page, please do! We need all the support you can give!

We are going for a nicer graphics than what almost all other MMO's have.
This is like a game of checkers where you have only 1 move, the setup.
