I am a student working toward my bachelor's in MET. I've been playing Half-Life mods for a while, but I'm a total noob to the world of mapping, and school doesn't leave me much time or energy to fcku around with level editors, so we'll just have to wait and see how long it actually takes before I can let my daydreams... and my nightmares take shape on the brush and texture and model. So... yeah. Keep on rockin'.

It cost over 400,000 dollars to hire Vin Diesel for twelve seconds.

Agreed, Magirock. On one hand, ModDB has its share of people who like to do nothing all day but play videogames. On the other hand, there are those in ModDB who like to do nothing all day but play videogames and watch their gay anime. The latter is clearly over-represented among the ModDB editors.

CoF Not Editor's Choice = ModDB Fail. Let's see what the people say though, in the player's choice. I hope they aren't a bunch of narutards as well.

Agreed on the polishing. I thought I had said before that modders can take however long they want to make sure its to their satisfaction. Rushing a release is a great way to ruin the gaming quality. Better that its done right, than done right away.
Furthermore, my "vaporware" comment was entirely in jest. In other words, I was being facetious. But alas, I forget how hypersensitive people are on the internet. And bless your hearts, my facetious remark seems to have traumatized so many. If the tone of voice in my original comment was misinterpreted as offensive or derogatory, please let me be the first to say "Come on, people! Lighten the **** up!"

I guess I was a little sad that a 2009 target release was too good to be true. Oh, well.

Does moddb have a "vaporware" mod of the year award? Because I am *this close* to voting for it if they do. But, unlike professional game developers who have no excuse for not getting on the ball [coughdukenukemforevercough], I give the modders the benefit of the doubt when it comes to time spent instead of quality. Not like I'm really ******* my pants waiting for blackmesa to come out anyway, since I won't be able to play it until my senile old fart of a computer is replaced by something competent enough to run a game on the source2007 engine.

It just keeps getting better and better! Thanks for yet another tantalizing hors d'ouvre. And a Merry Happyholidaysmas to all.

I almost thought "surely they're playing a joke" when you announced the switch to paranoia engine. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized that the engine itself is pretty impressive, it was just the game that was kinda disappointing what for all its hype. I'm excited to see that you'll do the paranoia engine some justice.

/e finished it. Looked and felt good, and the puzzles were clever but not too impossible nor liable to make me say, "This must be bugged! No way that it's my own ignorance!" I did have some trouble with the m60 LMG at first, but I found if I stood in the right spot I could get it to work. Although this may be intentional... as a bipod mounted gun is handled a little differently than those old tripod-mounted walk-up tourist telescopes in HL...

Just dl'd this one, look forward to playing it. I hope it works fine, I'd read about some of the bugs, and haven't seen an updated version. I'll be sure to let you know if I encounter any of the same problems.

Pretty crunchy, with a delicate aftertaste of unrelenting malice. Needs more fire and brimstone, but that's just my personal bias.
