Love the new design for arnor/angmar except maybe the round shields on arnor look a little odd I think. Any chance we get the rotwk campaign with those reworked factions?

Hello, I have one question and two suggestions/observations. For the question, is there a playable multiplayer campaign and if not can one expect it anytime soon or is that far down the list/not planned at all? For me the posibillity to play the mutiplayer campaign was always the most important advantage napoleon had over empire.

The suggestions/observations:

I played the 1600 ad mod and this mod seems to have the same problem. It is unbalanced. Melee infantry is way too powerful. Form my experience rushing the enemy with one huge death ball of melee infantry is just more effective than combining different unit types. Especially musketeers are not worth the money / extra attention they require in battles.

Please set a limit for trade ships. Since trading is so profitable and the AI has a hard time contesting the trading routes you are allowed to just spam them which basically breaks the game.

As I said. You can do whatever you want and i am totally fine with angmar not being in a war of the ring time period mod. I just think the reasoning is not solid. Angmar consited of basically everything evil in that area. If you are gonna include 2 factions which consist of the remnants of two kingdoms that were destroyed reforging them as the ultimate goal for both these 2 factions seems like the most natural choice.

I also don't know what the book has to do with this. The book is history but total war does not always follow history. I didn't say total war would go against historical consistency. But a total war campaign never goes 100% historically accurate. Just the prerequisites are as accurate as possible. So angmar not being existent at the start of the campaing but emerging after some conditions are being met is just what total war is all about. Basically an alternate timeline.

I also did not say the new angmar would have to be a copy of the og angmar. Just like the new arnor would probably differ from the one that was destroyed. I would just consider it a second attempt of sauron to seize control over eriador. There might be no powerful kingdom of men to destroy but this means there would also be less resistance. Why would sauron not have any interest in uniting the evil creatures of the north that could potentially threaten gondor and rohan from the west / support isengard? Maybe sauron already had new plans in mind before angmar was destroyed. Maybe sauron is desperate as he finds out the royal bloodline is alive and tries to wipe out the dunedain to make sure there are not any more royals besides aragorn. We don't know this and since this is a total war there should be reason enough.
And if you don't want to commit one nazgul to go there, just take someone else. Maybe sauron thinks sending a powerful black numenorean would be enough this time. Also if there even is an enemy left to fight after uniting angmar depends on who is winning the war i would imagine.

I don't know what you have in mind for this new evil faction. I'm just saying that afaik most evil creatures in lotr are driven by saurons will. And if sauron was trying to take control over eriador again it would make sense to try it the same way as before – by uniting everything evil around angmar.

You are proving my point. Just like angmar arnor was destroyed 1000 years ago. And then arnor just gets rebuild like that. In reality this kingdom would've been long forgotten. But in middle earth people know much more about the past and storys about old kingdoms are much more present. With sauron it would even make more sense since he is still there and he has the same intentions as back when he decided to create angmar.

Also just because it wasn't mentioned in the books that someone is actively trying to revive it doesn't mean it is impossible. It is said that the dunedain keep the shire and breeland save. Save from what? The north is still dangerous. There are barrow wights around for example that could cause trouble. Maybe some evil men, orcs ans trolls and there you have all you need.

Sauron probably just decided it wasn't worth it or the risk was too high. But this is total war. A game where you can make decisions against the historical timeline. Maybe if the evil creatures of the north get strong enough sauron decides it is worth to actively try to unite them again to fight the elves and what is left of the dunedain. Angmar was destroyed by a combined force of elves and gondorians. Since gondor does not have the strength to send troops north this might be a good opportunity to return. And then what is stopping him from doing it the exact same way as his mostly successful first attempt? Sounds just as plausible as a reforged arnor (without aragorn being king of gondor) to me.

You can do whatever you want ofc but comparing historcal nations with lotr factions does not make any sense. Arnor for example is just as long gone as angmar yet still it is being talked about and you are going to include it in your mod. So why is angmar a problem all of a sudden? What keeps the evil creatures from the north from naming their new formed empire after the ancient realm of the witch king everyone in the region probably knows about? Seems like an obvious choice i think.

As far as i understand wikipedia the "karabiner 98A" was introduced in 1902 whereas the "karabiner 98a" is basically just the name for the k98az in the 20s.

I actually really dislike this. I don't want things to go 100% historical. That's makes it total war. Even if it means that some random nazion declares war on me.

Are the line battles historical in this mod? I don't know much about how exactly the battles in 18th century went but in movies the soldiers always stand much closer to eachother and everyone in the regiment is firing.

Are you guys still working on wotr? While it does look really good the gameplay is still broken. My thoughts are: if a region is attacked no army in that region can move. The superior force has priority. This is to prevent a 1 hero army to just run through your country and ruin your economy because you can't catch him. This is already in the game but only if two armies attack eachother. Another idea is that you can't capture a region that isn't connected to your territory.

Have you played lord of the rings online? There is a swamp in rhudaur called "agamaur". The water there is red (and kinda everything else) which is why i think rhudaur and arthedain should be swapped.

Are the buildings and unit banners on the war of the ring map wip or final? Right now you can't see if the army on the map is a hero army and how many units are in there. They look all the same. To make things even more confusing regions that you own are only colored on the border now. While it looks much better i sometimes can't see the color.(especially when it's dark green). Also you can't move armys from the black gate to northern ithilien (or dead marshes) even though the regions are connected.

Rest looks good. I rly like the pictures of the different regions.

You can play the campaign with another player. Napoleon total war was the first total war that allowed you to play the campaign "coop". But i don't know if the ai has the same country sepcific winning conditions as in singleplayer since the player doesn't.
