Gildor approves this new model, well done!
Gildor approves this new model, well done!
1st question: I don't think so. They probably could beat Smaug in their true Maia form though.
2nd question: Nope. Even if Smaug doesn't follow 'Melkor's way' anymore, I don't think he would be friend with a Maia of Yavanna. Smaug is the opposite creation of those of Yavanna's.
3rd question: I don't think so. Maybe Gandalf's own spells, but not the ring itself. 'Ring of Fire' is more of a smybolic thing, referring to hope and courage instead of real fire I think.
4th question: Glaurung also had some kind of voice power, similar to Saruman's. If this applies to all dragons, then I don't think Saruman's voice would work on Smaug.
I don't think anyone would sign about him while he is still alive, you know lol
This new Gundabad settlement system sounds more unique and fun than the other for sure! Keep up the good work!
"If you want him, come and claim him!"
Actually, 'Only Gandalf was successful and maintained the will of the Valar.' this statement also was changed by Tolkien, but Christopher couldn't find it until it was too late. Like the fact that orcs come from humans, not from elves. Or the fact that there are more than five Istari and also some elves that came to Middle Earth with the same puspose as Istari has, like Gildor or Glorfindel. There are lots of things in the later uncompleted writings that Christopher didn't implemented. But he mentions some of it in the Unfinished Tales.
First you have to choose one of the three dwarven factions from the citadel. Then you will be able to build.
Since they were close friends (therefore both of them were... 'blue') I would put them into the same faction. But definitely not into Rhun or Harad factions. I don't believe they became evil.
Based on these later writings, a history of the Blue Wizards can be summarised as the following:
The two Blue Wizards were sent to Middle-earth at roughly the same time as Glorfindel.
The Blue Wizards journeyed into the East of Middle-earth, where they remained; they were not heard or seen of west of Mordor.
There they became known as Morinehtar and Rómestámo, Darkness-slayer and East-helper.
The Blue Wizards were able to hinder Sauron's operations in the East, aiding the defeat of Sauron in the Last Alliance.
During the early Third Age and until the end of the Watchful Peace, they were tasked with finding where Sauron dwelt. They failed.
Morinehtar and Rómestámo ensured that the forces of the East did not outnumber the West, thus helping secure victory for the Free peoples in War of the Ring.
Their faction would be created by non evil people of Rhun and lands beyond.
Sûladan or Salahaddin Eyyubi? Lol! Nice model!
Did you change the name of the game file? When playing Edain, change the name of the Rise of the Witch King that Aotr installed in it to something else, or basically name it like ''Aotr - Rise of the Witch King''. Also change the patch from the 2.02 Patch Switcher to 2.01.
When playing with the ai, this really bothers me too. I always have to protect my allied ai in the beginning because of this, but if the enemies' starter troops come to my base then it's fine.
You don't surprise me, Aotr team. You're amazing as always! And thank you a lot for putting people of colour into the mod. Don't mind the racists, book readers know well that blackish men from Far Harad fought in the Pelennor Fields, so yeah, they exist.
It is not more magical than Angmar as it is. Besides, we can expect some magic so close to the bitter North, far east of Angband. The North was Melkor's dominion for a long time. I really liked the vampire. It is nice that some fans actually know how magical this world actually is with all the werewolves(Draugluin) and vampires(Thuringwethil) and water fairies(Goldberry) and probably they all were Maiar.
It shouldn't be, something probably went wrong with the installation. Your Rotwk version is wrong, maybe? (It should be 2.01)
In the Silmarillion Sindar elves used axes but most of the population of Lorien is Silvan. But I agree, seeing axe carrying elves will be great.
*Well, now I remember that in this mod Nandor elves are also carrying axes.
Isn't Ar-Adunaim just Umbar? Umbar is a faction in the lore as well and there is plenty of lore about it; being a Numenorean base, Kin-strife and Corsair Wars, Queen Beruthiel, Thorongil's attack on Umbar and Umbar's role in the third age wars in general as well). I see your point on Noldor being able to create thousands of soldiers but if you want a Noldor faction then you must increase their numbers for the game's sake or you must create such powerful units for them to stand against thousands, and it seems this mod kinda does both which is fine. But creating evil elves are directly against the lore. Elves hate orcs(therefore goblins) and never would stand side by side with them, even when being tortured. As I said, even Melkor couldn't force them fight. And elves love art, music, nature and all the beauty in the world. So this is another reason for them not to stand with the Shadow. Elves have no desire to rule the whole world or trying to gain more power. But some of Ainur do have that desire.
This is totally against the lore. Even Avari didn't side with the Shadow, living so close to Mordor. No elf would 'throw their lot with the goblins' or any other evil creature. Even Melkor did not use the elf prisoners for fighting purposes, they were only slave miners in Angband.
Sometimes they don't activate themselves when enemies stands of them so the trap just stays there and allies and enemies try to destroy it but it can not be targeted so they are just standing on the trap(which doesn't work) and do nothing.
I read the changelog but I couldn't see Feredir's trap bug, is it fixed or this bug is just happening to me?
I agree that Angmar's tribute mechanic should be changed. Also the active ability of Lorien units... It is just too much micro to deal with and the stealth is not always occurs properly or some units are stealthed and some are not so you can't just click all to activate the ability... It's annoying.
I came here to just say that you are awesome.
Because they want to improve their mod. This is why they didn't just simply copy everything from the 3.8.1.
Two bugs I encountered.
1. Sometimes Galadriel's move animation doesn't occur. I think changing her forms cause this. I encountered this problem when Galadriel the Blessed timed out and she turned back to regular Galadriel.
2. Imladris AI doesn't build units from the barracks with 'Formation of the Firstborns'.
3.8.1 is not a patch that can be installed over Edain. Think of it like a different game, so you must first uninstall the current Edain you play or create another Rotwk folder and install 3.8.1 there.
It happens in every map, because it is a bug (or some kind of Brutal AI cheating) of the vanilla game, so I don't think Edain Team can fix it. AI can order to train units or research upgrades before the building is even built.
It is not some other update of Edain Team, it's a different mod that takes Edain as a base.
Then you should reinstall the whole game. Before you installed Edain which mod did you play? And is your version 2.01? Because it should be.
Congrats Edain Team, you have done it again, a perfect patch with necessary features!
