ENB is an after effect and not a standard thing in the source engine, the same goes with the over the top lens flares.

We are always looking at ways to improve how the engine works for us but stuff like ENB isnt on our list as its not something we feel goes well with the Half-Life design.

By all means when the mod is released, the workshop is a perfect place for additional things like ENB & additional flare effects to exist so you should look towards thats for your effect needs.

I get a strange Age of Empires II (AoEII) vibe from this mod.

I work and play the mod using 2 setups, a laptop from 2009 which is pretty slow and a mid range PC, load times are about 10-20 seconds on both.

We constantly optimise all content to make sure it runs efficiently, that's from maps to props & textures.

Thing is though, we can't test 100+ setups for exact load times on hardware, so my only suggestion is to load a few source titles and check your loading times on them, that should give you an idea of what to expect with O:BM & Guard Duty.

Hope this answers your question.

It is indeed but that's the name we are using for our remake of Blue Shift, Operation: Black Mesa is just a name, not tied to any old pre-release of OpFor.

We won't be adding anything like that in, if it wasn't in OpFor then it won't be in O:BM

Yeah we have a team leader, he's known as Mr.Sugar, the rules we have are the ones you see as our goals for the mod.

No its more then that, it's any time we can give, for instance I've just come home from my day job, had a shower, seen my wife and daughter and now I'm working on some content.

And I said 20 before but that's if everyone is collectively working at the same time which is impossible due to being a global team.

The mod was started 9 odd years ago, the content your seeing now is the work from the team that has consisted for the last 4-5 years.

We have had to work really really hard to get all content up to scratch by either improving current content or starting from scratch, that in itself takes a lot of time, considering the amount of stuff that has been made.

And yeah I'll agree with you, the hype does die, it happens with a lot of games, especially HL3 (trust me, I've been with HL since 1998, I'm stick in HL3 limbo too) but you've got to believe me when I say that we all work hard on this, some guys can only chuck a few hours a week in and others can dedicate more, but ALL content is outstanding, regardless of hours put in.

We don't like comparing ourselves to Black Mesa but we are essentially working the same way, we will release the mod, we won't stop working on it and if your still interested when it does release, we'd love to hear what you think after waiting all these years.

About 20(ish) of us, everyone either has education, day jobs & families that take up a bulk of our time, the mods development depends on the spare hours we have.

We all work hard with the hours we have for the mod.

It's funny how much you know about this mod, seen as DragoNOR has not been an active part of this team for many years.

We are lead by Mr. Sugar (I won't disclose his name) who runs the entire team working on both OBM & GD under the Tripmine Studio label (you can see it up in the Developer column on this page if you don't believe me)

We are working hard on both mods and we will release them, but you can stop following us if you like, it's your choice, we won't hold you here against your will but we will continue to work regardless.

It's not a priority of ours but I've done my own testing with the mod using VR and it holds up pretty well already.

If it becomes a viable thing for us to look into, we will let you all know and discuss it then.

Yeah this is my understanding of the situation.

I would say depending on how cut off scientists were would affect what knowledge they had about the HECU's actual orders, I'd like for this to be in the game but there would have to be a fine balance to not affect the original storyline & experience.

The cube maps haven't been built correctly or the current ones are assigned to a previous name for the map.

Just a heads up, design has been spelt wrong on your screenshots, it's says Desing and should be Design.

You'll be able to hear the conversation, back then it was hard to have neutral levels of background audio & voice because of the codecs used, we don't have that problem today, but in the case of providing subtitles, it will probably happen at some point.

We have no plans to do Decay, our main focus is Opposing Force, Blue Shift & Uplink.
Thanks for the comment, we couldn't do it without our community :)
