A long time player of games and mods, and interested in all issues of depiction, representation and manipulation. For details of my current project please have a look at CSS SCI FI 3: Hardwired.
End of the road. Announcement soon.
It looks like something is being changed under the hood in CS:S. Will need to investigate this further.
Yes - a major expansion is near completion. There won't be new maps in this release, but all missions have been tightened and enhanced, and many have been rewritten entirely. Look for it in about 6 weeks or so.
Each mission is balanced to the weapons available within it, with more powerful weapons available as missions demand it. Using commands to give extra weapons before they would otherwise appear will ruin the game. If you want to just try out weapons, you can visit the weapons range in the mission hub.
Sounds like something is wrong with your Counter-Strike: Source installation. Make sure CS:S itself runs fine - play maps with bots, for example, to check that cs_italy (the second map of the first campaign) works correctly. If it's all fine there then it should be all fine in this mod, as long as you haven't made any changes to the mod files after installation.
Please see the Config Utility reference: Amphibian.myzen.co.uk
As above, this error is produced by editing the game config files by hand. You should not edit the config.cfg. If there are changes you want to make, use the user_custom.cfg, but any errors you produce here are up to you to fix. You can always re-install the game if things go badly wrong.
This is an error not related specifically to this mod but rather to a failure to mount required resources. You need to verify the game cache for Counter-Strike: Source.
From Steam support:
From the Library section, right-click on the game and select Properties from the menu.
Select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game cache... button.
Steam will verify the game's files - this process may take several minutes.
Once the process is completed, the Check Window will automatically exit.
>1 and 2. Some contents from SMOD is not contained.
This is for gameplay balance and performance. But glad you liked it!
This is only a map patch and doesn't affect any other part of the game. Check for solutions outside this mod.
The next map is DE_Inferno. This patch will prevent crashes at this point. If you still get crashes after CS_Havana, then you have not installed the patch correctly. When the patch asks for a path, make sure it is pointing to your sourcemods\CSS SCI FI\ directory
This can only happen if the config or script files have been edited after installation, or by using a third party mod for this mod. Uninstall, delete the CSS SCI FI directory, then reinstall the mod using only the main installer + map patch.
Please use the provided map patch to resolve these issues: Moddb.com
It sounds like you have a problem with your Steam installation. Use this link: Install to install the SDK base. If you can launch the SDK base to the menu screen then you should have no trouble with this mod.
The map patch will definitely fix the issue. You have to check that it is using the correct paths for installation. If necessary, delete your CSS SCI FI installation and start over.
Amazing. The most original Portal mod I have played.
This was excellent. Really great work guys.
turn off anti-aliasing
Take the hostages to the red barn.
They are completely separate and all users may safely install and play both.
After you install this mod, you will have 24 new custom Counter-Strike: Source maps in your cstrike directory, which you can play online or against bots as normal.
Pirated copies of Source games are not supported.
No, there is a way back up. Head towards the trigger close to the floor.
Please remove profanity from your "review" of CSS SCI FI 3: Hardwired, or better yet remove the entire thing. Such reviews are neither helpful nor appropriate.
There is a major bug in the first level. Just before the first laptop, near the stairs surrounded by wood, enemies shoot the player through the floor, for the entire rest of the level.
Can't continue from there. Let me know if you need more info, otherwise good so far - but too many enemies and too few health kits and weapons.
It would be great if you could add a torrent here: Gameupdates.org . This would speed up downloads for everyone.
Thanks very much for this. I have seen the things you and Happy Cat came up with over the last year and can likewise say I've been impressed with your scripting - very tidy! There are things in there I never imagined could work. It's enough to make me want to release a bonus map pack to try out the things that didn't work the first time around.
But time is always an issue, and the current release (and all the subsequent patches) have consumed a great deal of that over the past couple years. There are some ideas rattling around for an original, large outdoor mod, but it's impossible to say at this point whether they'll ever see daylight.
DE_Nuke is fully functional and does not cause crashes. If it crashes on your system, please see the list of known issues and common fixes here: Amphibian.myzen.co.uk
No. This is explained in FAQ#7: Amphibian.myzen.co.uk
This is a frequently asked question ( Amphibian.myzen.co.uk ) but the answer is still no - it would require a completely different code base. Synergy features an entity-lump editing system similar to that used in this mod, as well as an expanded weapon and enemy set, so is probably your best bet for co-op, but over the years there have been many coop mods of one type or another, with a bit of searching you're sure to find one you like.
Hmmm. A majority of people who download the mod are not downloading the map patch, which means a guaranteed crash directly after Compound. Not sure how I can make this any more clear, but as above:
All players need to download the 3.02 version ( Moddb.com ) and then install the map patch ( Moddb.com ). Eventually the patch will be integrated into the main distribution, but only when I'm sure it's all that will be needed.
