We didnt, I dont know what he's talking about.

For the time being, all the animations are made by hand.
The old grass was one of the first things that got into the game and as a result, it was starting to show it's lack of visual quality. On the old one the yellow and green grass was seperated by a polygon. On the new one I tried to make it look like the colors were more like, flowing through the grass.
In the free time, you should play the game with and against other people ;)
We have no plans for adding any form of ai to the game.
Strangely enough hehe, 8300 tri's. It might be refined sometime further down the road though.
It's currently using 8300 triangles
Thanks, and it's the low poly
Thanks :). But yes, you will be able to choose which side to play on, unless some sort of balancing feature kicks in.
We'd very much like to hear your opinion, so thanks.
But once I've unlocked everything in the game, why should I keep playing? There is no point, right? hehe. I think a lot of people feel like this and I can't stop thinking about the days of Battlefield 2 and other similar games where you kept playing them because they were fun. There sure were unlocks. But it took ages to unlock just a few weapons so you never really got into that cod, must have presents! mood.
But thanks for your interest in War of Rights. With the help of the community, I have no doubt we will succeed. I can see a clear road all the way from here to Washington!
We do plan to have quite a few rifles for the standard infantry. I can't say yet wether this will be via unlocks or just pick and choose. We really want to keep the battles as close to real life as possible and therefor having all the players running around with Henry repeating rifles is something we want to avoid.
I can tell you that a private will be equipped with a rifle and a bayonet and an officer will be equipped with a revolver and a sabre.
As far as weapon attachments goes, we haven't decided yet. Different scopes for the sniper class could be an option, but we'll have to do some more research. The only other thing I can think of could be different kinds of bayonets to equip. But please feel free to come with suggestions and ideas :)
We don't have any plans for adding npc soldiers. But making sure that you won't need them because of the amount of players on a server is one of our main goals.
We're planning to let the command pass on to the next player with the highest rank. The idea is not to only have one player in command. But multiple layers of officers in command just like in real life. If an officer in a layer gets killed, he will respawn as a private and all other officers will be moved up one spot in the chain of command and if necessary, a sergeant will be promoted to the lowest ranking officer. For example, if Lee gets killed, Longstreet or Jackson will assume command of the army. The hope with this is to quickly get rid of players stealing a command position only to go rambo style with it.
Who said we didn't use lod's?
And as I've previously said. This isn't the 3rd person model that will be lying somewhere in the world. But this version of the rifle is only the one the player will be carrying in the 1st person view.
I agree that it does have quite a few triangles in some places, which will get improved in time. But I just loaded up Crysis (Bay) map or whatever it's called. It counted 3 million triangles. With that many polygons I really don't see why it should be a problem having a rifle of 11k triangles, considering it's going to take up a lot of space in the players view, most of the time :p But thanks ;)
No this is the FP model.
Ahh, thanks for the tip :). I've uploaded a new render.
The Henry Rifle. At least that model has been thrown into the garbage can. It was only to show the evolution of the Springfield from nothing to now. And as I previously said. This model isn't the 3rd person version :p. Of course we´re going to trim it down quite a bit for that :).
But yeah some details can probably be removed at places the player wont see. But we are planning to have some quite realistic reloading animations and since this is a front loader, the player will most likely get to see more of the gun than in the usual "modern warfare" games". So we'll trim it when we start working on the animations :).
11.197 triangles
A normalmap has been baked for the small dots on top of the hammer. The model you see there is intended for use in the first person view. And sure. Will upload it in a few minutes.
We appreciate your kind words ;)
I've sent you a pm :)
I'm not sure if you've seen them, but we've uploaded something like 40 images so far. Some of the first shows some of our weapons. (The Napoleon Cannon, Springfield M1861 and the Colt Navy) :)
I agree that it looks a bit like the bricks are glowing. But I think that is because the building isn't really getting affected by its own shadow at the moment. (The bricks on the shadow side is just as bright as on the sunny side). This is something we're attempting to fix :)
Ohh yeah, by the way. It's work in progress, in case there should be any doubt :p
