I think it's worth to make maps even with lower player base as many old players install CoD 2 again when they hear about some new SP maps only to play them. I've even seen someone who bought CoD 2 only to play modification (or rather a whole new campaign) called Spanish Civil War.

I think it would be possibly easy to import some japanese characters from CoD:WaW using Tom's tools from this site:

What do you mean? If it's done through script, then maybe you could enable it and only disable when player is firing...

I can help you in finding reference material, doing historical research, finding bugs, testing the map and maybe some minor work on mapping (even though I don't have too much time.

Or maybe Battle of Kiev in 1941 or Operation Edelweiss or Operation Weserübung? I suggest you use some stuff or ideas from Red Orchestra II as it has German Camapaign. Perhaps some sounds from taht game would be useful in this new mission?

No. There were dogs used by patrols, to carry messages or as mascots but to attack people? Rather historically inaccurate... Give me an example if it exists because I couldn't find any info on it. And by the way how would a dog itself know that it's attacking an 'enemy', not sb on its side? Stupid CoD:WaW spread this myth...
