Have a few more updates to make, the most recent work is completely redoing all of the sounds and cleaning them up and reencoding them. I know some people have had audio issues and this should fix those.
guess I need to log in to post properly, anyway, a lot of the base models were 'open sourced' a long time ago. There are a few that are only for SOGE and a lot of others received texture upgrades specifically for this mod. I love that a lot of the details like the texture normals are being focused on as development continues.
by tweaks I meant fixing the mirrored normals and tangents :-p
Nice to know that with a few tweaks the old models still hold up.

I have noticed that some particle effects and sound effects may be showing up with improper references. It sounds like the new entrenchment and diplomacy patches have some trapping for invalid abilitity spawns and particles, so maybe need to look at those again.
if you could tell us exactly what you were doing when it crashes? the problem is at this point we can't tell if it is a broken ability on a late game unit or research or if it is just a crash caused by something piling up over the hours, the minidumps are useless to us as we can't read them, so if you can provide any insight into the games ( or try re loading them as a save game and see if it happens again) the hardest part of these errors is that they are very transient and we have no tools to debug them other than actually observing exactly what happens right before it crashes
There are a few minor bugs that we will be fixing soon, diplomacy will take a bit longer since a lot of files changed
for the empire the gladiator should be able to do this
Afaik the thrid micro expansion was cancelled, though I think they are planning on Sins II to fill the gap(not an entirely unconfirmed rumor at this point :-p)
anyway yes I plan on porting to diplomacy, though it really depends on the level of changes required.
at this point it is really not that possible, it is very inexpensive to get entrenchment (at least in the US, I don't know about other countries) and a lot of the features that we built in need the changes in entrenchment for the mod to function
Star Destroyer is a classification of the capability of the ship to do system level control, technically the Providence is a star destroyer, the venator, the 600m gladiator from Force unleashed etc
I believe Leeland Chee addressed this in one of his blogs on starwars.com
so the Venator is a 'Cruiser' and a 'Star Destroyer' now what that actually means in relation to other vessels is very ambigious

We should be releasing a new version very soon. Most of the items on our bug list have been addressed or at least turned into non-critical bugs. More news soon
currently we are running a closed beta for the entrenchment version
it is actively being developed, I don't update this page a lot because news is a pain to post.
I will be starting up a beta test of the entrenchment version soon, but need some help in straightening out a lot of things first. If you are technically able (you've done sins modding before or debugged mods) please consider helping out. All that is really stopping getting a mod out is having the files edited, almost all of the graphical work is done! (or at least playable)
I am specifically looking for people that have experience with abilities/buffs as well as UI elements like setting up the icon files, strings etc.

the mods development site is on Warlords.swrebellion.com, I am working on models and textures for the New Republic, a new release looks like it will be delayed until just bfore the expansion hits or right after (depending on if they don't change so much stuff I have to redo everything again.
I plan on adding the Republic and CIS in the future (and may have someone working on it currently, I'll have to check if they are still making progress)
yes, working on getting ships into the mod so that the empire and new republic are fun to play together.
you need to rename the 'strings' file to 'german' I believem I haven't had the issue myself but I know the solution is on the stardock forums.

a new full release should be out around thanksgiving, the website menu shoudl work for IE users now.
