MODDB has been a safe haven for me too. I nearly forgot all about it now, but hey, good memories do come back pretty quick. Not as quick as bad ones, yes, but heh... at least, I remember something.. You, SOAD, the failed attempt at MODding and my subsequent trip to Kyrgyzstan to see my family, ultimately breaking all the ties with you awesome ppl. :'(

(No, not a blogger, just a client LOL) Still trying to fix my emotional life issues after all these yeeears and hey, I just got rid of a 15-year long depression 3 days ago just by sexting with a girl. Had I known there were such alternatives, I'd have done it LOOONG ago! MY brain just bit the bullet and now I'm left with only physical pain, but the depression is permanently GONE BABY. FINALLY. After 15 years. It's been a very difficult time for me, too. I'm just glad I'm fetching back my senses and all, and coming back to the roots again.

Aaaah, dismay. Maybe you will one day read this, maybe not. I, for my part, have been absolutely everywhere in the game (despite the limited access to the unfinished levels part as well as, it seems, the removing of weapons functionalities right after the section with 4 metal doors, where the unfinished part starts), done absolutely everything till "THE END" (yes I have no life). I must admit that the MOD has good enough potential, but yeah it's dead and it's alright like that, unfortunately, especially as of 2004. Nice smoke grenade launcher! (I've also seen all the unfinished weapon models)

Sorry if I've been a bit aggressive in my previous post (not as if anybody cares), but I was quite frustrated in the beginning, only to realize that the mod is not a BETA, but rather a "complete end-alpha", with mostly base, incomplete levels, serving as guidelines for the game development. Cool, many things were interesting, such as the tank and other little vehicles prefabs, weapons, and some textures. "Have a coke!" - "If you can't kill her, we will!" :D

I however, yes, discourage any further development of the MOD. Nice start, I hope you guys had fun, and it's good that you actually DID release SOMETHING that you started at such an early AGE. I, too, wanted to make 2 MODs (given "as heritage" by SOAD, another guy who left the community when I was 13 - now I'm 18 too... just like your case :), but I didn't start because of family and personal problems.

Farewell! Project AMOD shall now be archived, rest in "piece"...

Dunno if this mod is inactive or dead, but sorry pal, a beta's supposed to be playable, and this is barely playable. I'm playing this as I write. I WILL finish this mod (as a very annoying but right policy of mine...) (unless it bugs at some point in both versions of Half-Life, just like many others :P), but keep in mind that in order to create a modification with an "acceptably pleasant gameplay feeling", the player has to first KNOW his health levels (unless it's a bug, and even then), secondly he needs a minimal ADVANTAGE over his enemies. We all understood already that Max Payne could never survive on dear mother Earth, and that Gordon Freeman was killed by the Alien Vortigaunt, which spawned over him in the test chamber. So please, PLEASE take care. Thanks.

Russian mod? Oh yeah! Finally!

As you may know, life's a beach.

Went to Kyrgyzstan for 9 months, blahblah. Yes, it's a country. Times have changed. Yes, I now have an Acer Aspire Laptop on Turion 64 ML-32 (agh) technology, RADEON Xpress 200M Integrated... 768MB RAM and a 95GB Hard Disk.

Seems too old, now that I have it, as my friend just bought a MacBook Pro which config specs results are OFF the charts!!! (like F.E.A.R. almost MAXxed, at 60-120 fps...)

I've grown up, I'm 17, and have realised that I do not come up with ideas for a MOD. I don't know, perhaps it will come on the days, but if it doesn't, I won't even bother to TRY doing something in HL2 mapping. (Coz I NEVER TRIED...)

Mapping, modding, is a lot of effort. I understand you all guys, your work is often great, and sometimes even going back to ye' good old HL Gold engine makes me feel dizzy. I love that kind of stuff. I'm finishing all HL mods one more time, just like I did before, because I love what the MOD community does and want to see everything. (!)

You may say I have a lot of time. Yes, for now. But later on, after the next months, I'll have to study, and maybe work, too. In one or the other case, I'll have my work cut out for me, and I WILL need to do it well. Because I'm on the edge now. I've got so close now, and was so far from successful years before. Now, there is no second chance I believe, so I WILL have to not mess up my life. I know this is ModDB, so I quit talking about myself.

I'lll now say what.. well, writing on a bed with laptop keyboard doesn't feel comfortable. I say that the MOD shall be IGNORED. THIS MOD, ITS NAME, "APPEARANCE" HAS NO ROLE.

The same role would rather be demonstrated by the possible creator of another, better, wider HL# "Source" MOD. The creator might be me (Egi-RaZoRZ), or someone else. I tell you, now, it's not stable as an idea for me in my projects. If life contained 48 hours a day, it would be possible. But life's only half of that.

I know, it's an excuse.

That's why I'm not sure. Sorry now, about all the replies I didn't make to the helpers. It's really embarrassing to me. And sorry to SOAD, I know he might not care, or he might not anymore. But this MOD just couldn't go anywhere like this - besides my past family problems - and now that time has betrayed us on Half-Life 1 ("Gold"), either PORT (and learn MODDing), or quit (and go on with our lives). Crap. What a sad end. *sigh*

Alright so you've read the news? It appears the project is halted! Now forget it and go play something else!

And by the way, these are 2 types of MODs we're talking about! I remember Day of Defeat has lots of commands and stuff to bind, when I was planning em keys the first time it took me about 7 minutes I think. Although yeah, basic Half-Life & CS always get me set up in no time!

(The worst is uhh... *cough*battlefield2*COUGH*. 20 minutes. Now THAT'S a different story.)

Playing it now... So far it is the most confusing MOD I've ever played (...ok... besides HQA o_o ), and that's just why I like it. Great job, so far, I love how the gameplay is done and the models also!

PS: Finally, a released MOD for HL1... :lol:

After passing some time familiarizing myself with the new layout, I found out the organization is actually not doing well; what I need is rarely there. I like the old layout more not just because of the color (although, well, this layout isn't that bad neither after all :P ), but especially because of the lack of a better organization. The news, mod watches, ... seem to have disappeared into tabs, and I don't like the idea. You'd say "it loads faster? It's tabbed, it's well organized!" It doesn't load faster, I find a 2x page loads faster than 2 1x pages... (the time it takes to scroll down vs. to click and then scroll :garg: ) And it could be more organized than before, BUT for instance I still mix up All News (related links) with go back to all the MOD news! ARGH! Faster, eh? :S

Sure, and work draws media, but no team draws no perfect work; draws nothing :-P
