Hello, is it possible to just use the OGSE/OGSR engine for SoC, but only the rendering engine and nothing else? I just want character shadows for the vanilla game haha.

Hey, sorry for being annoying again with that, but I searched a lot since last time and I couldn't find ressources to modify the game myself to add character shadows for the main game, could you link maybe a tutorial that explains how to do it? I would be really interested in that..
If it's in Russian/Ukrainian I will translate it but I can't search for it, if that makes sense, I need more directions..

It's X87!!! God damn... I hate proprietary tech, it's long overdue Nvidia open sources it, PhysX GPU acceleration is an ancient, abandonned tech at this point. Oh well...

Great news for Vsync and resolution selection :)
Once we're at it, any hope for non super blurry text at 4K?

Absolutely fantastic mod, needs a Vsync toggle though, by default it disables it, which can be a problem even with VRR and FPS cap (tearing sneaks in occasionally).

I had a very specific question regarding PhysX simulation, I noticed that if you use your CPU to handle PhysX (for example if you have an AMD gpu), the calculations are done in single thread, which is extremely slow, but other games such as the Metro series do it multithreaded so it remains smooth even if you don't have Nvidia hardware (albeit with high CPU load but that's what we want).

Is it possible to make PhysX multithreaded by some sort of miracle of a hack? I tried to replace the PhysX dlls by the more recent ones but it doesn't change the problem, it's an in game implementation...

Hello, is it possible to have this but not as a mutator? I know it's extremely nitpicky, but when using the classic menu to launch a new game, Unreal 227i doesn't take default mutators (a shame I know) and I really love and prefer the classic menu.

Sorry to bother you again with that, but I'd love to be able to get player shadows with the original game, last time you told me some modifications were required, but I failed to understand the process.
I did it for Far Cry 1! Youtu.be

Does this work on NPCs as well? That would help a LOT! Especially with unfiltered textures with the faces!
EDIT: Looks like it does! Unfortunately those aren't .utx files which makes it not compatible with New Vision 1.5 for a cherry pick, my heart is filled with sadness.
EDIT 2: managed to get it work by putting the textures in the Textures folder instead of NewVision/Textures since it's where the D3D10 renderer recursively look for them, so I can have the best of both worlds now and I'm happy :)

You know the mission when you escape after you and doc gets emprisonned. But honestly Lost Alpha is just a hot mess lol, devs abandonned it in an acceptable but severely unfinished status. I'm just waiting for Stalker 2 at this point hehe.

Hey! I was playing Unreal Gold with your mod and I really like the ASSAO effect, sadly since I play in very high resolution the GPU impact is way too high, is there a way to change the quality of the effect? For example if it calculates at 1/4 resolution to make it calculate at 1/16 of resolution instead? Thanks!

(if you can give us a way to decompress the shader files that would help a lot too)

BRO, I've been waiting for something like this for a DECADE!
Instant 10/10.
The other bigger fonts mods were great too but the font was different and didn't look like it belong in Stalker.
This however is just perfect.

Super greedy, but could you make one for even bigger resolutions, like 5K or 8K?
Maybe not now but you know for people who use DSR/VSR.

I'm stuck inside Lab X-2! once you go in the elevator shaft with the spatial anomaly there's no way to get back, you get pushed off of the entrance, there's a lower level but the door says "lthe door lock is broken" and I can't figure out how to get out of there!

I see, yeah I figured you had to stay really close to Guide to prevent crashes.
As for the undergrounds, patching the exe with large address aware seems to have fixed it. I still suspect the game has some sort of slow memory leak issue or something though, because it always crash at level change after some time.

I noticed it's not possible to buy vehicles anymore (or maybe later)? It's not a big deal to be honest, however the elite anomaly detector radar functionnality is super missed haha.

I'm having a blast with the game though! I don't remember enjoying it that much last time I played it (just DC), maybe that's also because I have a better PC this time haha

Damn, it was going quite well and I was really enjoying my time, sadly the guide's mission with the prypiat undergrounds is an absolute crashfest, it's almost impossible to progress without the game crashing every 5 minutes.

The rest of the game has been mostly fine though. I have no mods except for closed iron sights and some custom values for vehicles (like speed or such).

I don't think my XR_3DA.exe was patched with Large Address Aware before, but maybe LA is already LAA (and can use 4GB)?

It's the same with health regen, artefact effects are disabled inside cars. Maybe not rad protection though? But I doubt it.

For example when you have 10 "Bubble" artefacts equipped when driving, if you take radiation (example forest) the 10 bubble won't clear the radiation. regular anti-rad meds and medkits will though, but it's a bit annoying.

That car mod looks INSANE! Do you have other recommendations like this for other aspects of the game? I'm blown away I didn't know more people were still modding Lost Alpha (besides you of course) that's so cool!

Edit: found the anomaly detector thing, it's in "gamedata\config\items\equipments\anomaly_detectors.ltx" referenced in items.ltx but your compilation doesn't modify it so the file is not there, maybe I need to extract my gamedata.db files?

I've made quite a lot of progress, I've been loving your compilation so far, I'm in the process of modifying vehicles to make them more pleasing to drive (to counter the fact that there are guides), I'll probably do a minimod about it for Lost Alpha with just the modified .ltx files :)

I just got the elite anomaly detector, but it doesn't show anomalies on the radar anymore (sad..), is there a way to restore this?

As for vehicles, I was always annoyed that artefact effects (such as health regen or radiation canceling) didn't work, leading to unnexpected deaths by radiation poisonning, any idea if it is possible to fix by editing scripts?

Love the fact that controllers are a significantly bigger threat now because other mutants don't damage them anymore, however sadly it didn't prevent the occasional crashing for me, I feel it's the same unfortunately.

EDIT: woopsie, it seems it makes the merc mission with Sakarov's package crash a lot, as soon as I put the .ltx file out of my gamedata, no more crashes anymore.
