Well you've already done the fixes, so I agree that you should save everybody's time and send them to N.Aaroe.

You're really asking if you can run a STALKER mod with a 580 and 16GB RAM? Of course you can.
In actual practice you don't get peripheral vision when using a scope. It takes up your whole useful field of vision, and you can't use it with two eyes open. That's why you need a spotter.
Perhaps balance that out by making it weigh a couple of kilos?
I've concluded that it's not actually bloom; they've just blurred the edges of everything so that it looks like light is bleeding through.
Having said that, I have turned it back on. Being able to compare fast bloom on and off for myself, I have realised that the change is actually not huge.
It seems that the threshold does nothing. I've taken comparison screenshots at 1.0, 0.5, 0.25 and 0.1, and the amount of blur remains the same, and I can't see any actual bloom effect at all besides that.
I will try it now!
EDIT: r2_ls_bloom_fast off did the trick.
SIR, YOU ARE A GENTLEMAN AND A SCHOLAR AND I THANK YOU FROM THE DEPTHS OF MY HEART
I will play with the threshold to find some nice compromise.
How can I make LURK less blurry and full of bloom? The effect is really overdone, and I physically cannot play this mod because of it. It gives me headaches, like my character forgot to wear glasses.
Is there a file I can edit or delete? A mod I can download?
Were you wounded? Hungry? Over-encumbered? Those are the only three things that would make your stamina crappy. If you're having trouble keeping your stamina up you should eat something.
I would also love to see this. Having to prepare magazines back at your home base or stashes would be great. It would also give combat shotguns like the Winchester an advantage because you could reload straight from boxes.
I agree that you should be allowed to sleep to pass the time. Of course, you could also do what the mod recommends and adopt a natural rhythm of working during the day and sleeping during the night.
Weapon damage is excellent. This infographic summarises it: Moddb.com
I've already been keeping my headgear off unless necessary due to the loss of peripheral vision. It's a good feature.
How do I hunt mutants for food? I can't loot them, and slashing them with my handy dandy military knife doesn't butcher them.
You're misunderstanding. Call of Pripyat Complete is another mod, pretty much the most famous one since the people who made it have done a 'Complete' mod for every STALKER game.
Oh as an aside, I found the default head bob values really swimmy and unrealistic; while having head bob makes you feel more physically present in the game world, your view is pretty constant in real life since your brain compensates for it. I halved the head bob for running and walking (but not limping) so that it's still perceptible, but less nauseating.
I only found this mod earlier this week. After playing for a couple of hours, I deleted Call of Pripyat Complete. MISERY is, to me, everything that STALKER is all about, and if you and the TrueZone people ever got around to making your own punishingly difficult FPS RPG, I would absolutely buy it.
