I totally understand you, got kind of the same problem. University, better life and then you learn a different approach on games so you just wanna skip the modding and start creating games from scratch. But don't spend too much time trying to enhance your mod the way you just learned, that'd take forever. Finish it as planned, maybe a few enhancements and that's it. That's what I do with my mod and it works pretty fine.

Lighting is great so far, but I gotta agree with Mv.c9, it's a bit undetailed. The buildings really are just brushes with brushes on them and one textur. Oh and the way is just one flat texture, use a simple patch mesh and simply just edit a few vertices, the effect will be great. ;)

About the spawn time, I guess it's easy to tell why the play is getting warned. Usually a monster comes from somewhere logical, but when spawned without any effect and sound it can come from everywhere (unlogical) and then it hits the player wheres he had no clue where it came from. If that happens too often, it might be that the player askes himself how stupid that is and stops playing. The sound and effect just prevents this (actually unfair) moment. Still, that's just my theory!

Thanks for your tipps, but I already checked. It began few weeks ago, my cpu was running with 2,8GHz (except 1,86 -> E6300). So I clocked it down to 2,4 and it worked fine for 2 days. Then it started again, so I got it back to 1,86 and well it was fine for about a week. But it continued, everytime the cpu had to work hard (packing, compiling etc.). I tried it with the memory (underclocking them and even got one out) but it didn't do anything to it. But okay, that's it I'm buying a new mainboard and cpu (already wanted something better for compiling and cpu rendering)... so I'll have it next week.
Still thanks for your tipps, I really do appreciate that!

The lantern is great, even though the textures look a bit unpolished with a low res. And the hand looks a bit kinda unreal (or have this anything to do with the Unreal Engine? :D), not that realistic. But you're on a good way, definitely! About the rain: now it's definitely better. There are no more different places kinda like extreme heavy and nearly no rain. Also there's now a raindrop effect and be careful: the trailer is a bit older and does not show the current status of the project.

Well. Seems like there's water on the floor, isn't it? I would say, you should find a solution to combine it with the DX8 water (revised blood"water" from Doom 3) and it'll work fine. Then the skybox... it doesn't fit. Now just more decals on the floor same as some details and wow, wanna play!
