My name is David"DaveTheFreak"Scholze living now in Germany. I like to work in my Modification but I'm not that kind of guy just sitting in front of my PC, I also like to do sports; Parkour, Freerunning and Skateboarding. What I want from the future? Nothing, just that I can be myself.
I know yall gotta hate me for not releasing info on Desolted....
But studying is pretty much taking all of my free time, this semester we gotta do some crazy stuff like a own little game, therefore I am trying to get to know the UDK.
Also I have a new project going on with the Doom 3 Engine, but Infos will follow very soon. About Desolated, I dunno if I can make it this year but I hope so (because university is much more than assumed). Further information will follow on the Desolated Page.
Thanks for listening,
I just wanna tell you that my mod ain't dead. But currently I have to face the last exam for this semester, afterwards I'll be able to finish Desolated.
Actually that's all I can tell now, but to give some infos I'd like to say that there's not much left for the modification. Last Arena-Chapter, then the dialoges and cutscenes (testing for sure)... but then it's done and ready for you to play.
So stay patient, soon I'll release new stuff for you.
it's me again after a looong time. Well actually a lot has happened, I'm studying now Game Design and therefore the project is going on a bit more slow than usual. Currently I'm about to finish the arena-mode while Brandon is doing the first voice actings. If both are done it's time to get the story ingame which is one of the hardest tasks to fulfill. If there's any break between the stages (e.G. voice actor cannot record) I'll work on the Freeplay-mode, which will work very simple: you got an own place with no car at first, near you are a lot of npcs giving quests. If you've done a few ones you'll be able to buy the car (the BM M3) and this one you can tune... right, if you earn more money by helping npcs.
About the area, it'll be a huge desert, but that's all for you to know by now...
it's me again having some background information. First of all I'm on vacation from august 17th to august 22nd, in the meantime Neurological is going to implement the soundtrack of the game.
The week before I'm going to finish the maps so that then only the story implementation is left, same as some testing and bugfixing etc.
But here is something new: when the mod is being released it'll include 3 languages (or more), but: only the main nps-quest givers will have a voice. Neither the hero nor usual nps... The reason is simple: the earlier I'll release the mod, the earlier I can apply for my course of study and an internship. The voice samples will arrive later as an additional downloadable patch, but just in English!
About the patch thing anyways: I've planned to release patches if a new language is available. Also if even after beta-testing any bugs will be found (therefore write me if you find something), I'll fix them.
Oh I forgot: all the other languages will be implemented by using subtitles, thanks to MacX for getting that feature to work.
here I am back again. I know I haven't written anything since I had to go do my military service. But now it's over for nearly 3 months... so what's left to do? Exactly, finishing the project. But as I already postet on the mod page, due to a broken system it'll take a bit longer. I hope to get the new components soon to continue working.
Well, just for those who're interested, the army (not US-Army!!!) was really interesting. You learn a lot at it really is challenging, especially for the first three months where the basictraining takes place. As a resume, I kinda enjoyed it but now I'm back which is also great... so here I am, back again to finish my mod!
And here's my newest parkour-video, just finished it a few days before.
PS: My new system components plus my "old":
AMD Phenom II X4 940 BE (new)
Asus M4A78 Pro 780G AM2+ (new)
OCZ StealthXStream 600W (new)
BFG GeForce GTX275 OC
3GB DDR2-800 OCZ Ram (CL 4-5-4-15)
Audigy 2 ZS
Well, finally the first 4 weeks are over.
It's definitely hard but now we got a bit more freetime and so I can grab my notebook to work in that time given. I'll start next week and what I'll do is basicly modeling and creating textures. About the mapping part, that I'll do at home every single weekend I'm home.
I'd a little conversation with MacX and he'll start working on a diary for the hero, it's not just kind of a questlock. It's more a little help for the player and it offers the possibility to read everything happened if you forgot about that. If you received quests, you can look what you have to do. But that'll take a while to realize that so you just wait.
That's all for this time, see you later.
So here am I, my first weekend back home. And I gotta admit that the army is hard working 100 or more hours a week. But I hope soon it'll change. Now the interesting part, if possible I'll be home every weekend to work on the mod. But the next big step is the demo being released on august 21, hope you'll like it. But for now... see you soon and stay tuned!
There I am, back from everything.
The alpha is just finished since a few days, first there were some problems 'cause of the size (540MB) and my internet was getting crazy, I had to upload twice. But now my testers are working or should I say testing? Therefore everything is fine now. Tomorrow I'm gonna upload some media and a lot of news stuff as well. But if you'd wait till sonday (or monday, I'm not quite sure) there will be a teaser-trailer made by my new sounder called keksus. But it's only 1:30 minutes to watch, so keep be patient.
I know it have been a while. But now there's so much work to do... would say I can't stop mapping etc. Therefore I got no time to post some bigger news and create some media. But: next week, on Sunday, I'll finish the Pre-Alpha and send it to my testers. If this is done, I'll create some new media and I also will tell you a lot of new features implemented, for example a working money system!? Who knows. So hope you can wait a little,
I wanna appologize that there are now no news. But there's an easy reason for that, I have my pre-exams so therefore I have no time to continue working, I'm sorry. But next week everything will be fine so the work can go on and I can release some new screens. Another thing, in two weeks there will be a pre-alpha for my testers to have a look at. And after that, I think, I can tell you all the release date, exactly!
