I would of given any and everything possible to the community to help anyone, however Id imagine most of what was made for the mod is already here via Tiger205/Chopin, who helped me (well..i say "helped" but I didnt really do anything!) on Pacific. Apart from that there was the extremely talented Uccido. Unfortunately, the Pacific Thunder file system is long gone as far as I can tell - I cant find any remnants of it on my HDD!
Hey, i'm a relic from a forgotten time who once worked on Pacific Thunder (although admittedly never really did anything :( ), another mod for CoH based out east (although with the US/Commonwealth instead of the Chinese).
Just wanted to say well done on the excellent mod, i'm so happy to see the eastern theatre make it into the game on such a grandiose scale as you've all achieved.
Nice to see modders I once worked with on the credits listing too, congrats guys i'm happy your excellent work has been made available for public appreciation! Chopin and Tiger_205, i'm looking at you in particular. Astoundingly good workers!

The pacific war included the Philipines, a huge land mass of an island. We wouldnt be able to fit entire islands into a single map so even places like Iwo Jima would be split into 3 maps (Airfield/Beach/Moutain).
That would be pointless, because not all maps will feature a coastline, so having a ship stationed in central philipines would look rather weird!
Nice one guys, thanks for the comments. I have ordered some books for uni about texturing (im doing a 3D Animation/Modelling course) so it will come in handy for this mod too if I can get my head around it! Probably not for a good few months though as I wouldnt even dream of joining with work after a 2-3 week learning period :P

I wont comment on my post from a few pages back as it will just get burried and you wont see it, plus I dont want to clutter up your forums with pointless posts, so may be easier to post it here and then let this post die.
1) Can you use Maya to create the models? Or does the team use 3DS Max?
2) Would a modeller have to set up the ingame structure for their models too, or just the modelling/texturing phase?
I am an okay skinner but plan on improving my skills greatly before even contemplating to help the team, as im sure its only highest quality required stuff!

If you need some models (not a brilliant modeller, but willing to help!) then im willing to help out, this has been one of my most-anticipated mods...ever actually.
I cant texture and my UV maps are horrible, and I cant get the models ingame, but if you wanted a quick solution to modelling a load of stuff im more than willing to help :)
I know I have broken some promises this year, which is why I want to make it clear to everyone - this mod page was made way too early.
I basically set up the mod page first, and then went about finding a team and starting the mod. It turns out that now I have more experience with modding and the way the modding world works, this was a huge cockup on my part.
When I create my new mod, currently un-announced for these exact reasons, I will literally wait until the mod is nearly completed before creating a ModDB page.
We actually dont have anything suitable to show you, as most of the stuff done is coding. Everything is currently in a stage where its being tweaked, worked on and coded, meaning if I did show you stuff ingame it is most likely going to change before release. I made this mistake with the Japanese infantry, which will change dramatically, the US Infantry, whom will also be different in the final Mod.
This is also the reason I showed renders of the Japanese tanks, as thats how they will look in the final mod.
I am sincerely sorry for causing such a messed up profile for this mod, which I do promise (and I mean this one) will be released, and will be great.
University, Work, Alcohol, Night Clubs and Alcohol have severly depleted my ability to work on this mod, so our team is basically 1 coder, and 1 texturer, which is why the mod advances so slowly from public release to public release.
Sorry about that.

Sanguine, did you actually read it? I specifically said that the votes should go to other mods who have actually made progress and/or is released, rather than our mod which is making progress behind the scenes unknown to the public eye.

Next is something many people have been wishing for, yet we have been unable to show thus far. I will be aiming to have the next update out for Christmas at the farthest. It is requires a lot of work and after that update is done, it will mean the mod moves into the final stages of tweaking/icons/artwork.
If the update isnt out before christmas then it will be out ASAP afterwards, as it will be more of a milestone for us than it will be a large update for the community. We wish to have everything possible done before the update so to keep to our game plan.
We may not do it before them, but I assure you we will not release something unless we are confident and believe it is better than any other IJA Faction you see on a Company of Heroes mod.
We have been around for longer than any of them. But yes we do.
We always welcome new ideas, although a lot of stuff has been finalised.
