For help I'd go to:
Regarding the mission thinging, some missions require techs to activate them. You can't do airborne landings without 'Battlefield Interdiction' tech. And you need to load a airborne infantry to use the mission.
The bed looks too much like a shrink double bed. Why not make it a narrower single bed. Might look better. The texture doesn't look too childish, but a color that doesn't look as much like the blue walls might set it apart more.
It's a standalone. While its based on Hearts of Iron II and has similar gameplay, Darkest Hour has been greatly expanded. A lot more ahistoric options and more realistic gameplay.
The gameplay was very slow, which I didn't like. Everything moved at such a snails pace.
Expecting the name to change in such a late state of development is unrealistic. Besides Darkest Hour is a commercial product while Darkest Hour: Europe '44-'45 is free modification. One is a grand strategy game, the other a multiplayer first person shooter. I think there's enough difference.
First of all, great looking map. You've come a long way considering L4D isn't that old yet. The parts that are recognizable from the movie are the best parts. The little paths between those places though seem to generic and undetailed but I'm confident you can fix that. I'll be watching this thing.
The commentary is great. Very funny. Especially your mom interrupting :D. Keep up the good work and make some more vids.
Would this be the Berengaria system with Starbase One?
Look at this Memory-Alpha page for the correct United Earth emblem in the 2150s:
This is actually the 2370/80 version.
This is one of the most promising mods in development. Keep up the good work. Feels like a commercial game but free!
The white thing, is it a bed or something else. Also the carpet-tile transition looks so weird. Also this mod would look so much better with even more custom textures and models.
Wow, looks great. You guys are so good at lighting.
"The kitchen is the victory" xD.
Goddamn epic trailer. Got me very psyched for this mod.
Lighting is great, but the stock textures are too dirty and worn for cruise liner locker room. HL2's textures are fine for cities-that-have- been-under-dystopian-regime-for-decades kind of settings but for a cruise liner it should look a little bit more new and clean. Look at Bioshock. Sure it was dark and parts were flooded but the wood panels and the brick walls were in a pretty decent state. If you are planning on using more custom textures than just ignore this message :D.
In it's thumbnail version it looks just like a scene from DS9 or VOY, which means good job.
I agree wh turen. Nice texturework also.
Don't like the stall's texture. Other than that very nice screenie.
One of the best shots you've released. So much atmosphere. Good lighting also. Some of the other areas you've shone could use this kind of ambience.
Details are used to sparingly. Loved the extravagance of Bioshocks environments. But this is of course still a WIP.
I'm guessing a Nazi experiment gone wrong.
Telling the story (partially) via readable context or audio recordings is a good technique to use in horror/RPG games like Bioshock or Deus Ex.
I agree with Flobulon. Would like to remark that this is far more readable than the text in Deus Ex, which was too small. This is prettier on the eyes. Will there be different types of paper (newspaper, book, single sheet of paper) or just this? And is the text plus the paper a texture/material or is the text displayed by the engine somehow?
This is on my mod hotlist. Judging by the screenshots this is going to be a high-quality singleplayer mod. Thank god it's set outside of the HL universe. Just read the new Captain's Log test. It explains a lot about the game's premise while still keeping it mysterious.
The setting is also very unique. Same Art Deco atmosphere as Bioshock but less in the realm of fantasy. Don't think a cruise liner has been used as a horror setting except in a few movies.
Would not have expected it to be a French liner by the way.
Looking so forward to this mod. Has all the hallmarks of EPIC!
Doesn't use any models or textures from Episode 2 so my guess is you don't need EP2. Rather hear it from the devs though.
I think it has some balls to use the AK in a different role. How many games have we seen with a Dragunov in it? Would've wanted a stock loadout of weapons you've played with hundreds of times before?
Is this based on actual Russian uniforms? Looks good.
Has the same grandeur as EP2. Nice work.
Looks like some sort of base, with the fence and all.
Some of the houses look a little blocky. Good skybox work as well as perfect use of stock textures.
Looks very much like the Caucasus. Also it has the STALKER feel to it, athmosphere to it which I like.
