Couldn't it be an anomaly? How do you explain areas in Stalker where people are being electrocuted or flung into space? Or have I misunderstood this mod? Isn't this meant to be an spin-off on the Stalker trilogy?
Modern browsers should also support MJPEG (Motion JPEG) - which will get you better looking animated images for the same filesize.
Shouldn't you be able to use higher poly-count models using Unreal Engine 4? These look a bit too low-poly for todays standards. I'm talking about the demon & character models.

Are the blood-decals on the floor supposed to not angle up with corners? I'm having memories it did in an earlier version - i.e. the walls.

There's a bug - seems when they added some new sprites to the Imp-fireball they forgot to update the GLDEFS file (which seems to define the dynamic lights for sprites).
A simple fix is to open brutalv018a.pk3 with WinRAR - 7zip reported file duplicates and didn't want to save the edited .pk3. And add the following two lines:

inside object FireBall_ on line 580.

Looks too easy. The guards don't seem to notice you even when you stand in the light just in front of them. Cool idea though but I'd work on the AI.

Why not go with Cryengine 3? It's free for non-commercial use. Three's also a choice to ask for a INDIE licence (CryENGINE 3 Independent Developers Platform). Check this site out: Mycryengine.com
That would be my guess... or replaced by some more convenient system. Bullet-time might also prove difficult for multiplayer.
