My main focus is testing PC games in Linux. I have had a lot of success with PlayOnLinux in Linux Mint! I am working hard at creating step-by-step guides on how to install, configure and optimize PC games in PlayOnLinux. I am also a artist with skills in drawing, sculpture, graphic arts, 3D modeling and music.

That is brilliant. I remember other games that would auto-focus like that... what a great effect!

Amazing work! I love all the debris and rough scenery. Did you create all of the assets and textures yourself?
The lighting is perfect too, I hope this is more than just a test project.

Yes, awesome work! I haven't started a server because I just run it offline in a 6-computer LAN. Which works perfectly in MoH Cooperative.
I will play this mod for years to come!
Take care and enjoy your family

There are already too many early access, pre-release, alpha release, beta releases out there. Its already kind of a mess... imagine adding paid-for mods to the mess.

booman Apr 28 2015, 2:27pm says:

I fear the modding community will not get credit for their content when its handed over to paid-for services. The publishers will probably take credit for it.

Modders are passionate and intimate with their work. Once its handed over to Developers it probably won't get the same attention and support.

Do you think there will eventually be paid-for alpha/beta/unfinished mods?

You make a really good point!
When things are free, we all have the freedom to do what we want with it. Many times money just complicates things and ruins it for everyone.
Some things should just-be-free

booman Apr 23 2015, 3:08pm replied:

That would be a cool option if you can release your mod here or on your own hosted website for free, or if you are really serious and want Valve to support your mod, then release it through Steam as paid-for.
Some mods could really use this. Specially the big total conversion mods.
This would give us gamers an option to support mods so they continue development.

At the same time, this will produce a new generation of consumers who demand support because they paid for the mod. Sometimes demanding supporters can kill a project.

booman Apr 23 2015, 2:53pm replied:

Its a little confusing...
Will modders have to submit their work to the publishers/developers or can they still provide it via sites like
Desura installs mods and total conversions for you (for free), so maybe Steam is taking it a step further?

booman Apr 23 2015, 2:34pm replied:

I mostly agree because mods are using proprietary content that the modders do not own.
But there are some mods (like Rebirth) that I would be willing to pay for to insure more development.
In these cases obviously the modders would have to get permission and the publishers would get a cut of the profits.

That is a lot of "red-tape" and it would be better to just keep mods free.

Maybe the best way is to accept donations...
Not sure what kind of "red-tape" that would create?

Awesome! I was hoping for some new areas and minions.
I played through the entire campaign in PlayOnLinux...
Everything ran great! What a cool game.
I love the ability where you can create your own minion by clicking armor and weapons laying on the ground.
