Nice to see a 4 year old mod being polished to perfection. Good work
Hey ScureHD,
Thank you for your work on making my favorite game look vastly improved from the original version.
When I checked the High-Definition Remaster Mod DB page today, I was happy to see that you had released a new version of the mod.
While installing the latest version of the Base Mod, I noticed that the BF1942graphicsmod2023.zip file does not contain the reshade-shaders folder.
That prevents ReShade from loading in BF1942. I was able to resolve the issue by copying the reshade-shaders from my other BF1942 install that has ReShade 5.7.0 install on it.
Just wanted to make you aware that the reshade-shaders folder is missing from the BF1942graphicsmod2023.zip file.
Thank you again for your work on the High-Definition Remaster.
Damn. Thanks for the info, i will check it.
Yes, it will work if you intall ReShade yourself. But my mod contains a custom LUT.png in that folder that is used.
The only downside to me was it limits the refresh rate to 60Hz on Display Mode, so there's a noticeable amount of screen tearing when I move the mouse even in the slightest bit.
Also, DXVK won't work as well.
It's a shame that I would like to retain the mod to my BF1942 installation, only the abovementioned problem prevents me from doing so. :(
P.S.
While testing, I have a gaming laptop with an Nvidia Geforce GTX 1660ti mobile GPU and a 1080p 144Hz display but does not have adaptive sync, specifically GSync.
It shouldn't limit to 60Hz, but i will check it again. DXVK isn't working, because the mod already contains dgVoodoo. You can try to delete d3d8.dll to delete dgVoodoo and use DXVK instead.
But my Reshade preset is hooking to DX11, so it won't work, it needs to be reinstalled for Vulkan or whatever DXVK is used for
DVXK? Are you playing this Battlefield 1942 mod in Linux?
Are you using Wine or Proton?
Can you write a short guide? I would love to give this a try as well.
No, but on my Windows 10 partition I've placed d3d9.dll of DXVK's x86 folder to main Battlefield 1942 folder alongside d3d8.dll from d3d8to9.
I haven't tried to install DXVK on my Linux partition (Ubuntu 22.04) yet, so I can't give much details on how to do it.
Hmm, I didn't realize Windows could use DXVK as well as Linux. Very interesting! Thanks for sharing!
