They were fighting a contemporary war with Russia from 1806 to 1812. The mod's year of 1809 in particular saw a few sieges and field battles along the Danube (like the years before and the years after, the two empires were stuck in a rut).
Just go to Naples and recruit line cavalry. You don't need to join any particular faction. They are called Guardia d'Onore Napoletano.

In 1809, Wallachia and Moldavia were occupied by Russia and under a provisional military government. It would be cool though if you could reinstall the hospodars, either for the Ottomans, for Russia, or for an independent Romanian state.

It appears in the same place it always does, at least as of the latest patch, but does not respawn, so that's probably why its not tied to any anomaly.
The looping tunnel puzzle in the Ventilation Complex was broken a few patches ago, but it's working again. You can get in the same way you do in CoP.

Not really. You can start a faction, but you lose your rank (making your party tiny) and proper use of the depot, and there are no major features from diplomacy that you might expect.

When you get to the last mission in story mode, you will speak with a hologram and that portrait is used in the text box.

I've tried destroying all the little glowing blue antennae on their pods and killed the pyrogeists that spawned, but then nothing else happens and the switch on the control panel still won't flip.
I'm still playing on 1.4.08 and when completing the main quest all the way to "Concrete Tomb", rejecting C-Con's offer, fighting the waves of ghosts and then returning to the lab under Generators, I can't flip the switch to turn off the generators. Is that bug known and was it fixed in the later patches (which I currently can't download)?

Moddb isn't giving notices when you replace the old hotfixes with the latest one. I know you don't want people downloading the obsolete files, but consider that some people are probably still running 1.4.01 or whatever because of this.
Some of the Monolith in the control centre are hostile even when the player is in the Monolith faction? Is this intentional, like the player doesn't have high enough security clearance or something?
