A good stalker knows that patience nets you the best loot. You rush around everywhere, then you die. That's not how a stalker does things. Bandits do these things. They are impatient and careless with what they do. Hell the military is not that bad.

We stalkers are meant to be patient. We wait for good things to come to us and through trail, error and patience. The zone rewards us. This is no different.

So what a few bandits stole some of our gear. Morale is a little low and that is understandable. It was really good stuff, man! But falling in? Nah, that's not what a Loner would do. It's not what a Dutier would do, or a Freedomer. It's not what the Monolith does and we all know this and we know the eggheads back in Yarnov are the same.

There hasn't been a set announcement. What they would like to do, doesn't equal to what they will do. Lost Alpha will be available for us when it's ready and not a moment before as it has been said before. Speculating on a release is fun, but it causes some to be annoyed. AS they take these speculations to heart and become dissapointed, thinking that promises are not being met.

I use r1 because my computer is crap, so I'm glad it's being kept in.

Somewhere between the time that I went to X-18 and leaving X-18, my binoculars stopped coming up. I press 5 and nothing happens. I've checked if it's the key and changed it to something else and even then it doesn't work. Does anyone know a fix for this? Im not sure if it has something to do with the mod or if it's the actual game that has messed up on me.

You know, even if I can't play this with the steam version, I do hope the release of this is just as juicy as everyone wants, and I hope it's a grand experience for them all.

Actually it is entirely possible to share a drink with friends, albeit awkward, Skype, tinychat, msn or any program that uses webcam's allow you to see face to face with the people you associate with. I've shared a drink with friends from around the world, through the internet. Lol.

Either way I am validating game files and installing it fresh so there isn't any added mod files from the mods I have used.

You need just the Bin folder or the entire Shoc folder?

I am able to play Complete as well.. So perhaps manually patching to upgrade is possible, but it still says it is at .5? I think it should work fine with LA, no reason that it shouldn't. Then again steam is mentally handicapped so it's all a matter of time.

Honestly I don't think that there is a real difference between the two, minus the steam version obviously not using a disc and not being able to update past 1.0005. All of the files are the same. XR_3DA is the same, just stuck at the 1.0005 patch. Oh well if it wont work on the steam version, It wont be that big of a deal. I am sure I will find a way to play the mod. I have watched this mod for a few years[just made an actual account here today since I lost my old login info] And I have looked forward to the true Lost Alpha. I had a chance to play b1935 and it was amazing. Shortly after it crashed and wouldn't run anymore, but the time I spent in it was something I wont forget. I look forward to being able to play it.

I do wish I had the boxed version. I could never find it in stores when I took a huge interest in stalker in 08
