Or... you can just make an ordinary pillar with say, 12 faces and apply the inbuilt smoothinggroups(can be reached from any viewport) to all visible faces so Vrad will treat them as rounded objects when applying shades.

Since I'm a HL fan the original plan was to base everything around Gordon and the HL universe.
But since I started on this project I've had some splitted thoughts about it. 55% of me want to go for a traditional "Gordon saves the world - mod" and 45% for something more original. I try to leave the story quite open during the development so I still can replace gordon with a custom character if I wish. To answer you question; You're going to play either as Gordon Freeman or a Citizen (which still stands to see).

The buggy wont be in the mod but a modified version of the jalopy will.

4# It's har to judge in percent but the mod will not be released this summer as planned because of lack of time on my side. I can't say a date stright up but somewhere at the end of this year.

It´s a nice scene, the pipes/fences & overall layout feels right. the only thing that bothers me is the Green/Blue sprites. Try with a lower scale multipl so they doesn´t look that overexposed. Try 0.2 - 0.4

hmm "/ Tip #1 make it darker... ~40% It looks way to bright right now.
..or atleast change the lightcolor to something more blueish.
It looking good! The displacements on the far end needs more work though to make it more uniformed, make it a bit bumpy and drag it out more on the street, dirt decals and Concrete debris for more realism ;) After all a building have collapsed!

Thanks for the feedback, yeah it looks a little bit weird when I think about it. I put it up on the changelist, I have planed to rebuild and modify the whole are on the screen later so I´ll see what I do.

No It support bumpmaps but you can´t have it on models if you use pervertex lighting, (Doesn´t work well with HDR either what I know, but I´m not sure about that.)
Parralax mapping can be used on source aswell but only on the episode 1 engine and with modded sorce code.

It looks good but I would recomend to add a env_sprite or point_spotlight to the lamp for some lightglow.Just to make it looks like the light actually comes from that model.
The ground looks a little bit flat as well, but otherwise Good!
Good idea but be sure that you align the hole with the brick texture exact. No big deal, but details is details.
