Hi thanks for showing interest in Zombie Boss Interactive! Let me just give you a quick rundown of what ZBI is all about!
Here at ZBI we try our best to give back to the community that we ourselves have been apart of for quite some time now, by giving them creative, original games to sink there hungry gaming teeth into (did you see what i did there i made a zombie joke ahaha). We don't see ourselves as a company that feeds off the blood of young gamers (another pun) but more of a collection of talented people with the drive and courage to make a difference to the gaming world!
Now for some information about the staff of ZBI and the current projects

Our current project is one created by our staff member Henley, this project aims to re-create the gaming experiences you had as a kid spending every cent you had on the money gobbling arcade machines in the retro years!
Remember the days when arcade games consisted entirely on your quick reflexes, button mashing and side stepping to achieve victory! I certainly do, this is why I'm currently working on project ARCADIUM.
With waves upon waves of enemy's running at you with only one intention what do you do? You fight! Make your way through countless arcade style levels in either tradition top down arcade action or the brutal fps mode, with countless power ups to make your job easier!
Ever changing and ever expanding ARCADIUM brings a fresh new perspective to the mod community with a retro style arcade mod that will blow your mind!

SMOD: Zenith is a mod built on the often-confusing SMOD. The intention is to release an extremely user-friendly, well organized and documented version of the mod for English-speaking players. Taking inspiration from other SMOD mods such as SMOD:Tactical and CSS SCI FI, this mod's initial release includes a considerable number of custom weapons, and will ultimately include a number of custom scenarios based on both existing and completely original maps.
Creating a brand new way to play the original HL2 Campaign along with any additional map packs you feel deserves to be played on this brand new take of the single player experience! With SMOD: Zeniths map add system, adding those map packs are now even easier! So what are you waiting for? Go get it!

Born on March 29 1989 Dave "Henley" Traeger grew up playing games and fell in love at first sight! His first game was bayou billy and for a kid growing up that game was FREAKING HARD! But it grew Dave into a game loving kid who eventually went onto games like smashtv, halo and half-life and that is when Dave started to think about making games! He started out small, designing mods for dos games like Leiro, But he needed to move onto bigger things, he made a small company called Bigfoot Industries which failed due to the massive scope of the game he was designing! So he took the experiences he had with mod making and decided to better himself as a developer. So off Dave went to uni in February of 2007. I graduated with a Diploma of Screen Majoring in Animation in December of 2007 with a short film under his belt called Sheep he was again ready to tackle Modding. His newest achievement is Gauntlet which is a mod for the game Halflife 2.

Chris "Bubbinska" Antonello has grown up with games, and has always sought to tweak things more to his liking. Modding is a natural progression from the minor changes he learned to make early on. Most if not all of his game and programming knowledge has been informally or self taught. For now, He is teaching himself to mod Half-Life 2 with the help of the SMOD community.

Alexander "Zeeky" Hirsch has always wanted to make games since he was 11. After many failed attempts to learn certain programming languages, he made his first 'real' game with ActionScript2.0 (also in former times Macromedia Flash, nower days rather Adobe Flash). By developing several small games with that he saw the limitations, so he gave up for some time. He returned to modding when he saw Half-Life² and all the mods that begun to be made, this sparked his creativity with the SourceSDK. Begining small and making little tweaks to the released code he saw that his programming skills and understanding in this language were not enough! Because of this he started to learn plain C++. He wanted more! And there was only so much a book could teach him So he joined a school to hone his skills. And now he is working hard with ZBI on the Gauntlet Project!
That is all for now, make sure you check back regularly for more updates from the ZBI Team!

Hello everyone!
Just letting you all know, I have decided to stop using SMOD as the code base for GAUNTLET. Instead I'll be coding with source from the ground up. I aim to do this because of a few reasons.
1: This will give me complete control over the process and I wont have to ask for permissions etc when it comes to the final release + future releases!
2: Things like player lives and scoreboard need to be created from scratch, as stated above I don't what anybody getting confused with who created what.
3: This will give me a chance to learn new things, that is what modding is about!
4: If this all works out for the best I will be able to create prefab and entities that players can use to make there own custom content for the GAUNTLET game ie maps etc.
With this in mind, there could be a small delay for beta 2.0 but you will all have new things to test, this is all very exciting and I cant wait to see where this project ends up going! And as of now I'll be looking for people to join Zombie Boss Interactive and help out with the GAUNTLET project. Right now all I need are some talented programmers to both help and teach me new things with the project. I am very serious about making this project right to the end! So if you wish to join me either send me a personal message or email me and we will start talking about your experiences etc.
Now on to news about the mapping files, I have started to re-define the first map for GAUNTLET, and attempting to make pickups work for me. Just starting out small and getting the players to pick up weapons with a set amount of ammo. This is harder then it looks, because there are so many variables that I need to make in order for this to work.
Players will walk into a room, triggering a trigger that I have created, this will then start a timer that creates random drops that the player can pick up! The problem I am having is getting this to work. I'm sure there is a way for this to happen i have just yet to find it!
Again thanks for all the support you guys have given me! I plan to make this mod not just for my own personal development but to help out the community and give them something different this year. Again thanks to the SMOD community for the help over the past month but for my mod and my own personal development I'm not going to be using SMOD anymore!
Thanks for reading!
~ Dave
