HALF-LIFE 2
MODS
======================================================================
Jailbreak:
Source - A Rebel vs. Combine mod of HL2 Deathmatch where dead players respawn in
jail. They then have the opportunity to either try and escape or to wait for
rescue from a more tactful friend. One of the group staples, games for this mod
are extremely common. It works fine with any source game. Get the DL
here:

Battlegrounds 2 - Another
HL2 DM mod based off of the revolutionary war where the goal is generally
territorial control. Pretty much what Counter-Strike would have been 250 years
ago. Once again it works fine with any source game and the DL is availible
here:
Moddb.com
Eternal Silence -
Another HL2DM mod which combines FPS action with epic starship battles to create
a truly unique gameplay experience everytime. If you're interested you can get
it for free in the mods section of steam store. Plus it's compatible with all
source games. And unlike most other mods on the list, you can DL directly off the steam store:
Store.steampowered.com
Fortress Forever - Ah FF, the illegitimate love child of
TFC and the Source Engine, FF is a total remake of the original Team Fortress on
the Source Engine. An absolute essential for those without and TF2 and some
with, it's compatible with all source games and you can get the DL
here:
Moddb.com
Fistful of Frags -
FoF is the ubiquitous spaghetti western film (most likely with Clint
Eastwood)...
....only in game form. Yet another mod based on HL2DM FoF
does everything you've come to love and expect from your standard FPS, but from
the late 19th century. Despite not one fragmentation grenade in the entire game
FoF is a blast to play and compatible with all source games. Get the DL
here:

Suicide Survival -
This one is well----complicated, to say the least. So here's the basic premise:
two hostile forces clash in the standard Team-DM. But that's where the
similarities end; one side is a group of overweight gardeners armed only with
copies of Barbara Bush's "Gardening for Beginners". While the opposite faction
are a group of suicide bombers disguised as shrubs. The gardeners score by
bringing the smackdown to the suicidal (homicidal?) bushes with their gardening
mastery and shrubs just try to make the gardeners go boom. While it would
normally not be too hard to pick a hidden bush the gardeners must have ate
paint-chips and chalk in kindergarten because they've stepped into the
landscaping cornucopia of Hell. While quite unorthodox, this game is a lot of
fun and like all the aforementioned is compatible with all source games. You can
find the DL
here:

Resistance and
Liberation - This mod, is very, very taxing on most systems. If your machine can't run Crysis, than you probably can't play this mod at a decent FPS. That being said, R&L is pretty much every other WWII freeroam multiplayer FPS Battlefield style game but with huge DOUBLE-DOSE OF REALISM. In order to master this game you'll need to essentially unlearn everything you know about run-n-gun and learn to play tactical. Fun ONLY for the patient this mod is also compatible with all source
engine games. DL's availible right
here:
Moddb.com
Situation Outbreak - Like the artist formerly know as Prince, ZM:S is now SO. Anyways,
taking the generic co-op zombie adventure and refining it, SO has everything you
want in a nice, simple zombie smackdown. This mod is, SURPRISE available with every source engine game. Find the mod here:
Moddb.com
Coven - This HL2DM style remake of Vampire Slayer mod for the original Half-Life is surprisingly polished, and does all the things that you would expect of a Vampire mod. It's still in a beta form, but shows a lot of promise. Unfortuantely, because it uses a lot of the DM models you need a copy of HL2DM installed for this mod to work properly. Get it here:
