PG-7VR is the real killer, but I suppose if there is no Explosive reactive armor fitted this can get the job done too. ;)

Once a tank/light vehicle evolves active protection like Trophy/Arena puny infantry men wielding those things become cannon fodder :D

These things are not used as ultimate tank-killers, it's more like giving infantry a chance to fight. That won't change with new active systems. Guys with these can still swarm tanks down in the city...

Doubtful. Of course, if you use ****** tactics like the russians in chechnya and have equally bad coordination of your units you are bound to lose some tanks.

But the 2014 Gaza war proved that the assymetrical warfare paradigm is coming to an end - low tech weapons are no longer able to keep up with defence technology. Even advanced equipment like Kornet proved to be insufficient against Trophy, not to speak of RPG-7s. As to "zerg-rushing"- you need dedicated and well-coordinated guerilla infantry for that, and even then most APS still have multi-kill-capabilities. The next generation like AMAP-ADS may even stop tank rounds, making tanks only vulnuerable against mines and IEDs at the most. Light vehicles like DARPA GXV or that Panhard might even be sufficient in low-intensity conflicts.

You don't need to destroy a tank. Immobilising it will do the trick. Also, I'm surprised no one has ever thought developing a new weapon type that disables a tank by destroying is optics, sensors and/or gun barrel which are extremely exposed also modern tanks seem to rely on them a lot =)

That's what the A-10 does with its main cannon by destroying the optics and sensors. You can also do that with a sniper rifle.
EMP based weapons could theoretically disable them as well.
Destroying the cannon well you still need a missile to do that.

What the A 10 does is basically opening up a tank from above, optics are the tank's least problem in that case :P

Also, the probability of insurgents or Donbass-like "militias" with EMP weapons/ A10s (they got them from museums, you know ^^) is pretty low.

Basically taking out the sensors or using conventional explosives are the only safe bets left to infantry facing APS, and both are a lot more difficult and cost-extensive to do then simply firing an RPG at the tracks or the engine compartment. Compare the Donbass, where T-64s and BMPs basically got butchered by RPGs with Gaza where even Kornet launchers didn't achieve kills. Night and day basically.
