Cuba never received any JS-3. Only T-34, 55 and 62.

Damn, restoring a WWII-era tank to full functionality, including weapons, is a feat that I'd never thought was possible. Impressive. :)

It didn't need restoring... These tanks are all over the post communist countries as monuments. Most of these retain original engines, sometimes even with fuel inside. Don't know about the gun though, it's almost for sure deactivated but even if it's not then finding 122mm ammo would be realy hard.

Love how this thing was supposed to be a WW2 memorial monument since hardly any IS-3 was produced before the last months of the conflict.

It was displayed at the victory parade right after the end of the war, there is also speculations that one or maybe two prototypes saw action in one of the last few battles.

Description

One IS-3, previously displayed on a pedestal in Kostiantynivka as a WWII memorial, has been restored and is being used in combat by the Novorossiyan Armed Forces (Now part of the Donbass People's Militia).
