You know....I wouldn't be laughing if I was in that tank. Thanks for making a tanker hate you more.

Should they go inside in the first place? The tank crew are asking for attacks themselves. An armed conflict is an armed conflict, no excuse.

It's more that fact the OP seems to enjoy seeing destroyed American tanks.

Just like Americans enjoyed seeing bombed Iraq? When was it? 2003?

If it is human beings, you don't give a **** about them, when it's a piece of rubble from America, you do. Fine.

But one can enjoy Russian, American, and other tanks being destroyed. It's called freedom of choice, expression, whatever. You'd like to forbid him from doing so?

No, i don't forbid anything. But racial hatred for no reason at all is a bad thing, it's even worse if it's in retalation for someone elses racial hatred. They enjoyed seeing Iraq bombed in 2003 because they were at war, i'm not saying that's a good thing, but it's certainly more justified.

Questioning why the Americans enjoyed seeing Iraqi troops bombed is like asking why the Soviets liked to see the Germans bombed in WWII..

I would be saying the same thing if it were infantry and were posted up with the same intention.

I didn't like seeing Iraqis bombed in 2003, I liked it fine in 1991 when we actually had a reason to go there.

This time however I agree with Panzert, seeing an M1 Abrams in flames, and knowing a lot of the Tankers over there, I hate seeing something like this, and seeing the other postings from the guy who put this here, he enjoys seeing American equipment destroyed for no reason other than it's American. I don't agree with it, and I really don't agree with him. Tanks are beautiful sights, but when they're in flames it's a sad thing for any Tanker, or at least it SHOULD be. I hold nothing but respect for most of the world's tankers.

That's just a piece of equipment. If it was a future tank inventor (an inventor-to-be) burning, you wouldn't give a damn.

This one was disabled by enemy fire then torched with thermite or phosphorous grenades/IEDs. And yet again cold hard chemistry/science owns yet again xD Looks like the devise went off on its side burning trough the bottom right side of the hull if it was thermite. Even the most advanced composite steel armor cant survive 3,000 degrees C. of liquid metal slag :/

Also the crew bailed out & im sure are just fine since the hatches are all open.

I highly doubt thermite was used to finish it off, Americans tend to destroy any of inoperable tanks themselves to prevent capture. Why bother torching it with thermite when you can capture it?

It would be extremely difficult to close close to it then ignite the thermite with the crew still inside..

My last post here should be able to help you & other understand how this would be possible. As a static AT trap it could be quite lethal but I am still testing on & off on my free time to eliminate any variables that can affect my data.

I'm not saying it's not possible, but rather that it would be difficult to get close to a tank with a functioning turret/remote MG. Your post sort of implied that they torched it AFTER it was imobilised.

Of course its a static tank trap. thermite could only be utilized in an offensive role is one were to some how make a thermite based AT warhead for a high velocity gun, missile, or RPG.

Y'know, in that Top Gear episode where the boys were in Alabama, they should've painted "ABRAM TANK - CRAPPIEST TANK EVER" on the sides of a car, followed by a pic of a charred abrams taped on the hood. That would've ****** the locals big time.

Problem?

The reason why there are alot of M1's taken out is bcause they're fighting an unconventional war,M1 tankers got the most experience in combat considering they're in a hostile environment most of the time, well yeah there's the challenger2, but that was just an isolated incident, only facing rpg's, unlike the abrams facing "IED's" w/c the insurgents always use alot.

So saying the abrams is a crappy tank is just damn retarded
