On a serious note what is your guys opinion on a 4-6 legged walker type tank similar to the one shown here?

And please serious constructive comments since im researching the possibility of such a weapons platform.

It would just get owned by anything that haves some firepower. From the looks of it it doesnt look very fast. Also looks like it can't see 360 around itself. Nice big target aswell. I'd chose a hmmwv with a 50 cal or any of the guns it can mount any day over this.

Basically I can see two advantages of a walker design - the tank could move side to side without turning and it could move better over rock or uneven ground. These things might make a design viable in the future for a very specific use, like mountainous or jungle warfare, but as it is there are just way too many drawbacks to the design.

Well this version is a small specialist tank for urban combat its not meant for heavy combat. Also it moves quite fast since its feet are actually 3 wheels that unfold for walking in uneven terain. Its basically a one man light tank. also 50 cal wouldnt do too much damage since its armor thickness is about 3-4 inches. only the while spheres would be vulnerable since they are its eyes.

quote from metal gear solid 3
"Not only is making a tank walk on two legs a technical nightmare, but there's no point in making a walking tank to begin with. Putting legs on a tank would raise its clearance, increasing its frontal projection area. It'd also be less stable. Suppose the legs help the tank travel bad roads... I don't see the logic in that. Isn't that what treads are for? I mean, anyone who'd seriously consider making a thing like that has got to be a wacko."

One its not 2 legged its 4 legged & its a light specialist tank for urban combat. I intend for a 4 legged walker type multiped tank for urben & dence forested combat wereconventional tanks are useless.

I don't see how this could be usefull in a forest or a urban environment.

It walks (in rough terain) like a spider & on smoother surfaces like pavement its feet deploy self powered skate like wheels & can move at highway speeds aparantly.

Heres a vid showing how it moved from the anime.

Description

So yea I have been facinated with these seemingly versetile milti leg tanks for the anime Ghost in the Shell for awhile now. Im looking at this concept from a serous engneering standpoint & this type of design may very well prove to be a stable & versetile weapons platform.

This image just shows you the scale of this particular tank & also rember that it's a light specialist tank hense the small size.
