The Soldier of God has certainly advanced in experience from the last time that I saw him. He is now a Knight!

You know, when I was young, I wanted people to obey me and to fall down before me. My motto was "I kneel before no one" but Yeshua. Jesus. Messiah. The Christ. THE KING. Just by reading his words, I knew that he would be one that I would kneel down before. I don't know what compelled me but one day, I opened The Bible and as soon as I saw the words of Christ, I knew they were the truth and I was changed from that day on. Christ is God's Savior for this world. It is Christ who leads people to God. I am proud to say that I serve God.

We Christians have a king. That king is Jesus. I don't believe in politics. If anyone asks me what party I am, I tell em that I follow King Jesus. I cannot have two masters. Let mankind have their politics. They lead countries to Hell. If only mankind trusted in God instead...

Everyday and every night, I fall upon my knees and pray to God, I worship and I praise him. Others who see me in daily life may regard me as mighty or as strong but even I fall before one and I am proud to say such. No one can contend against God. He is deserving of worship and praise. He MUST be praised for eternity. We should be thankful that our unworthy cries are even heard by such a glorious magnificent being such as God. He is the embodiment of all that is good, love, joy, mercy, forgiveness, justice and holiness. Yet he would still listen to us, even after all of our sins. That's how much he loves us and that's why he is deserving of eternal praise and worship.

That's obviously a Templar, and templars were pretty much the definition of corrupt back then.

Says who? The Templars were formed to give save passage for pilgrims entering The Holy Land as the land was ripe with bandits at the time and hundreds were killed. If not for the Templars, hundreds of more innocent pilgrims would have been killed. Templars actually rushed to death and feared it not. Some were poor men who fasted often (and nearly died by doing so) and in the end, The King of France had them all executed to draw attention away from himself as he was in debt. By killing them, he thought he could take their money as they became rich with donations from everyone. Most of the Templars underwent torture and most accepted death, believing it got them to God earlier. When their Grandmaster burned at the stake, it is reported that he said to the King and the corrupt Pope, "God knows who is wrong and has sinned. Soon a calamity will occur to those who have condemned us to death." and sure enough, the King died in a hunting accident several months later and The Pope died a month later and it said that lightning struck him.

Now I don't know about you but it sure sounds like God liked the Templars. Not all crusaders fought for gold.

But you are an atheist. Every Crusader - according to you - was corrupt. I suppose King Richard The Lionheart and Saladin were corrupt too? From what I recall. King Richard wanted the child that killed him (he had a mortal wound at the time) to be shown mercy. Saladin gave all he had to the poor before he died and he was a good Muslim. In fact, I hear he had no money to pay for his own tomb and that the people paid for a tomb for him because he was such a good person.

Don't forget, The Crusades were launched to stop the Muslim's expansion of their empire. The second and third crusade were about land, nothing more, nothing less. The Crusaders became greedy. Never once did someone decide to go to war against the Muslims because they believed in a different doctrine from the Christians.

Sure, they were sent to stop the Muslims from conquering Europe, but they raped and killed innocent people along the way. They were promised they would end up in heaven whatever they would do. Not blaming Christians, Christianity, or religion for what happened. They abused their position like most humans would do.

But that still has nothing to do with Christianity. The Crusades were launched concerning land (like most wars) and like most wars, atrocities were committed. Didn't Western soldiers rape Vietnamese women during the Vietnam war?

The Templars however had to refrain from sex and I doubt they would have raped anyone. They went to The Holy Hand for noble purposes even if the war was no longer noble and sure, there may have been a few bad Templars but I'm sure there were noble ones too.

I actually agree with Headcrusher about the Crusades in general. They were a despicable act of greed.

It wasn't about religion though, like Knight said.

As for the Knights Templar... I'm thinking there's more to their story than just guarding the roads into the Holy Land. I'm not saying they were generally good or evil. Just that there's a lot we don't know, and it's not a great idea to jump to any conclusions (in my opinion anyway).

However, this image isn't really so much about the Crusades as it is about Ephesians 6:10 - 17. So, all is good I'd say. :)

Remember these guys. The ones that work under the name of God. Destroy, kill, murder, rape, no better words to describe them. there's nothing logical, truthfull, reasonable or intelectual about these. Just dogs of war thirsty for blood covering themselfs in god.

The Templars didn't murder, rape or destroy though. The Crusaders did and that's pretty much what every soldier has done in every other war.

Description

Ephesians 6:10-17 says to put the full armor of God on to stand against the devil's schemes. But to stand against the schemes of man you must have these aspects on your side:

Logic.
Reason.
Truth.
Knowledge.

All those who follow Christ should have these elements on their side if their heart is truly devoted to Christ. For Christ is truth. Christ is logic and Christ is reason. Knowledge is to trust in him for his words still ring true even in this day and age.
