Today's churches have basically flipped this upside down. Sad, especially for the children of the broken marriages. :(
As an equalist, I disagree. There is no logical reason for husband to be above wife.
The husband may supposed to lead the spiritual matters of the family.
But a real family unit, the husband and wife both hear each other out.
Ever heard of a woman's intuition?
My dad (no offense to him) was not as bright as my mother. But thanks to her guidance and advice we got through some very nasty and what one could argue even fatal situations...
God has roles for his dream team "perfect" family unit.
But in this life to be frank, make due with what we got.
Having a heiarcy like this, and what is shown in the Bible, doesn't mean that the husband is somehow better than the wife, its just the order that God put things in. For example, the Bible also tells us to be submissive to the government, but that doesn't mean that the government is better than us. Everyone has different jobs, that's all
