Honestly, it's very hard to say how the world would be if everyone was an Atheist. If there was no God, and whatever created us, created us; it's hard enough to predict how we would act.
Some things we classify as a known 'evil'; to an innocent child brought up differently, could be good in his/her eyes.
I think the biggest contradiction I have with religion, if at all, is with the brainwashing we receive as kids who don't know any better. What our parents put into our head gets nailed down as either 'good' or 'evil'. Were too young to think for ourselves! That's always kinda bothered me in a way because we are presented with very little choice for change. Even now, there are countries like Pakistan that do execute people for converting to other religions. Why is it such a big deal for some people? The extremists obviously get a little too into it, and that's where it can become dangerous.
Now I know not to judge a book by it's cover, or a race by one person for that matter. For instance, I'm not gonna walk up to a known Christian and think that Christianity is ******** just from his point of view alone. There are many sects of Christianity and many different religions out there; all of it runs off some fear that their is a deity out there judging us, watching us. Of course, I speculated that the fear resonated off of past issues like dictators trying to control their people, so they come up with a religion. Stuff like that doesn't make it in the history books because it's a well-hidden lie that turns into truth. I believe at least one religion has surfaced from that source. That also leads me to believe religion as a whole COULD be just that: brainwashing. People back then were dumber than they are now, so I wouldn't doubt it.
In all honesty though, it does suck were all left in the world with such a large degree of opinions and statements to make off of. I'd also rather everyone believe what they want to believe then fight over it. We can dream, huh?
I just thought this was interesting to bring up.
(Couldn't fit this with my last post, it's part of it)
I thought atheists are rational thinking beings? How about you start thinking rational about this event? Shouldn't science tell you that the explanation of this event is... at least obscure?
1 hour more and the death rate could have been up to 20,000.
Loving how everyone is crying over you posting this on your mod page. Figures the leader of the Christian group would report it. xD
Religion =
Double standards galore.
Yeah much like atheism which is why atheists are crying over this image:
