yeah, careful what you brag about dude, there's an almost endless archive of screw ups on american carrier landings as well. this pilot actually made a pretty good save.
Its very hard to land on a moving ship. This guy has saved himself and the plane too. A lot of american pilots would just catapult them from the plane and let it crash.
It's pretty impressive that the SU-27 didn't stall, given how it was going rather slow and at a nearly 90* angle of attack for a moment there. It's amazing how agile modern fighter aircraft are.
I've seen a Gripen fighter jet almost hovering in a 60 grades angle like 40 meters above the gound, it speed was propably around 100km/h. Then he set full throttle and was in the cloudes after just a few seconds.
(buried)
this is why, if you want something working, buy american
yeah, like that 2 billion dollars B-2 Spirit that crashed during takeoff...

It is working, just the pilot missed...
yeah, you can see the hook didn't cach the ropes, a bad plane wouldn't be able to gain enough speed again to not crash.

oh yeah yoda, you really failed
Those guys who were knocked by torned cables are damned lucky to save their legs.
yea, that guy with the yellow shirt was one lucky bugger
Just good the hook mised because then the plane would go to hell.
Yeah, and the pilot speeds up before landing just in case he misses the hook

considering how heavy and computer supported they have become...
What have you expected? thrust vectoring, canards, airplane dynamics, perfect plane for supermaneuvers :)
Pretty impressive of the pilot he managed to pull out in time! :)
huh...how did he has got in that angle without goo down?
