Welcome to a world that knows no mercy — none is received, and none is given. Only physical and mental agility can keep you alive, though they are by no means a guarantor of life. You play the role of Geralt, an already legendary monster-slayer — but this, my friend, is not a gift, and is certainly not given lightly. “The Witcher” is an immense computer game. Within its realm, you will have to assume the burden of choice. And this burden of choice, as light as it may appear, is the very thing that will both permit you to wield influence over the fate of the world, as well as get you slain prematurely.

We fixed several thousands of bugs and made a wealth of improvements to the game, many of these fan-driven as we loved listening to our community:
- 200 new Gestures and Characteranimations
- Reworked fighting system
- Alchemical ingredients now have their own inventory satchel and can be easily sorted by main or secondary ingredients
- 80% improved area loading times
- You can now choose if you want the game to autosave or not
- New models for several important NPCs
- Recoloring of Monsters and generic NPCs so you won't come across the identical NPC twice
- Freely customizable language settings. Play with English sound and Spanish subtitles or any other combination. Ever fancy learning a new language? Now you can!
- Quite a few more improvements that you will be told soon ;)
Furthermore, the Enhanced Edition box will have the following content:
- Game DVD with Enhanced Edition
- Bonus DVD with two new Premium Adventures (Side Effect and The Price of Neutrality) and an overhauled D'jinni Adventure Editor
- 'Making of' DVD
- 'Inspired by' Music CD
- Music CD with 29 Soundtracks found in game
- All improved game manual
- Official strategy guide
- Overview map of the World of the Witcher on high quality paper
- Short story (The Last Wish) by Andrzej Sapkowski, the author of The Witcher
This updateversion will be available free of charge for current registered game owners. The download will be approximately 900 megabytes for the update alone and 400-600 megabytes for each additional language pack you would like. The extras included in the boxed version will all be available as digitalized versions as well.
As a special note, the German version of the game has been completely overhauled with new voice actors, so it sounds completely different!

The minimum download will be the Upgrade with your current language version. In addition, you can then choose all the other optional content for which sizes are not yet known, but I shall keep you posted.
Oh, and all savegames will be compatible with the EE, so you don't need to start over, though it is recommended so you don't miss out some great new dialogues ;)

LOVED this game and still loving it,its "moral" system is the only one that really works. Also combat is real good. (The game´s engine is NWN2´s and still they managed to make an extremely original combat system)
I decided to try this title out awhile back and I was kind of liking it at first until I got into combat. The combat system is hardly my cup of tea.

also, can't change the face. i'm stuck playing this blonde homo queer. elves and goblin characters are cliched as hell in rpg games.

Only Bioware makes games of equal awesomeness (since the Gothic series had some horrible releases recently).
Yeah you are right The Witcher was awesome but last Gothic games were just like some bad jokes.

This game is amongst the top 3 if not the best game I've ever played.
Catching story, what you do really makes a difference. Combat system is weird in the beginning but is very cool when you've learned it.
But I do think they should move on, instead of just re-releasing this game...
