coming in 0.8.6
Is that through an upgrade?
Also, Orcs can already be improved to be resistant to arrows, perhaps goblins could get desiese immunity. Wolf Riders also need a bit of a buff, its almost not worth it training them compared to regular Orcs and Ogres.
Basically this unit was hurt by a goblin (or other unit with disease abilities) and now carries and transmits the disease, but is not affected by it.
RSBs were changed (and new cool icons, as we see here) - for instance Plague one gives a temporary buff based on units diseased (or that can carry on disease, such this unit here).
Undead and Orc races are the ones able to do this "naturally" in 0.8.6.
A few facts:
1.Goblins already were immune to disease, along with the whole orc race.
2.Wolf Riders can INFLICT disease (i.e. have disease attacks), orcs and ogres can now only TRANSMIT it if they have been infected.
3. Wolf Riders are the fastest units the orc race have. Good for chasing enemy heroes, especially if they have their researches done. They are definitely worth training.
Maybe, but I still feel the Wolf Riders could use a buff really, after playing with them recently. Perhaps they become better with the new disease systems you are implementing on the next patch.
Its cool the Orcs and Undead are recieving some new racial feature. I hope other races receive something like this in the future.
The reason behind this change was to ensure that the Plaguelords' Racial Synergy Bonus could be used in any match up (like with all the other races). The idea was provoked after playing a multiplayer game of Plague and 2 Orcs. The Orcs could happily use their RSB, but the Plaguelords' was utterly useless as the Orcs could not be diseased.
Hey - I just thought of something. The Orc player could get his own Goblins to attack his own Orcs to inflict Disease upon them! "Line up boyz, you need a good bashing before we go out there - we need to be filthy!" :p
Yeah, I thought about that too. A bit cheatsy for me, but after all you do sacrifice some hit points to inflict the disease upon him, so it might not be that abusive.
Its not cheating, it is rewarding a player for knowing game rules really. And definitely very Orky. :D
I'm still playing around with those RSB buttons. The only ones I'm 100% happy with are Minotaurs, Knights and Barbarians. (Seriously - I love that Minotaur one, even despite its simplicity)
