With 0.8.6 out, it's play time!
With 0.8.6 just released, it'll be a while before the next version comes out. So I thought I would share a game-play picture now and again when I come across one I feel deserves to be shared.
This particular scenario was to stress-test the game. 6 large armies smash into each other the new clay terrain (which spawns decals as units cross it). With such large armies, this scenario actually plays out longer than you would think.
Oh and the fight is bigger than what you can see (couldn't get it all on one screen). But the mini-map gives you an idea of the scale.
And no crashes, I suppose.
Correct - both Patrick and I couldn't get the game to crash on this map. The game would slow down a bit and some graphical glitches would occur when there was too many special effects going on (see bottom right of this image: Vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net ) but the game muscled its way through to the end.
Sometimes units even disappear (WBC3 as well) and CTDs afterwards. It may be no other solution other than take insane measures: units produced in groups of 4 or more instead of single ones. Anyway, you can still have big fights with the current setting.
