Yes folks, still alive here, SYNTH is still on HOLD at version 1.666,. but it is STILL open, and very much under development, but mostly in the form of "DAMSIN MUSIC MACHINE" that is the "jukebox sound" engine for SYNTH's "real time" synthesizer. But man, it's a next gen platform, to go along with "SYNTH" at the same time. So this is going to be an 8 core / 6 core project, so stay TUNED. SYNTH has a whole "upper truss" layer, that is interactive coming to "further complete" the graphical experience. It's a must, but it's gonna need quite a bit more GPU than version 1.666. As anyone knows, the sound in SYNTH to be "up to par" needed an "entire mini-daw" build with mastering, that is now a "reality". {2 years}
The Background "jukebox" experience for SYNTH was a major "unfinished" part of the design. 

Oh yeah, almost forgot, DMM is now running under "FREE BSD" as well, performing very well. So who knows what the (**)future of SYNTH/DMM with linux / apple / openGL / steamOS could BE. DMM for BSD has "retro EGA" graphics, which look like "3 other things from andromeda" :0

Yes folks here it is, after many months SYNTH version 1.666 (MASTERS RELEASE) is HERE at MODDB !!
Here are some of the highlights:

- ALL new "holographic" 3D volumetric textures !! (very pretty!!)
- Many gameplay motion enhancements, including soft cieling, blending.
- Tokens now give "life, and wind, and bomb". (what were those colored tokens for??) ** :o
- Major graphical Cleanups and enhancements.
- New easier directions and "manual" included.
- Audio enhancements (loading music still to muffled, needs changed)
- Bug fixes (bugs?? should be near 0)

If you've never experienced SYNTH video game, v1.666 is a H*LL of a TIME TO TRY!!

The concept of this game sounds quite interesting, but unfortunately it simply will not run on my system, as it crashes the moment I start it (I do have Windows 7 64-bit, FYI) Considering that you developed it on an Intel processor and nVidia graphics card, I have to wonder whether it works on an AMD CPU or graphics card, as I have a Phenom II X6 1100T and a RADEON HD6870. Just a heads up. Good luck with future development.

Yeah,. I need to test with ATI right now,. I've tested with AMD, that should work fine, but I don't have a good ATI card right now,. that could all change really soon, I have not forgotten ATI cards for sure. It's just some simple problem. Now that I have window7 I should get right on it even :) Thanks! Keep checking, eventually I'll have ATI finally fixed.

Thanks! I'm glad you are interested in the weirdness that is "math art",. math can generate some crazy stuff,. I really have learned a lot from this project, and it was worth every second,. there is still a lot I want to do to it,. I'm planning to work on it in my spare time for at least 1 more year,. but take a look at v1.404,.. it's very playable now on "decent" machines,. as for "inspiration"? the inspiration was to make a pure "math art" game, and as this was started, I soon started going after "synthetic nature art duality" as well as the "satanic side" of what typing in SIN SIN SIN over and over "brought out" in a "treebark inkblot" delusion kind of sence,.. a major part of the inspiration is some of the very weird programming that was done for the game.
