First off, let me say I really am enjoying your game! Crazy since it is only at v0.30!

A few questions/suggestions. I like the comment about different ship sprites, I can second that suggestion.

Is it possible in the details of the ship to have the base "model" or "class" listed? I only ask as I find the inclusion of officers very immersive and with that I like to change ship names and it can become a little harder to track. Commissioning date would also be great.

How about decommissioning older vessels?

I'll write more a bit later, but again, very fun!!

You mean keep the name of the original design and show it on the details screen? Sure, that's trivial. I'll see if I can squeeze that into the 0.31 release. It won't work for existing ships from old saves of course.

Decommissioning/scrapping old ships should come soon, but probably not in 0.31. It's already working as a cheat/testing feature (press the Delete key in god mode), but it still needs proper sanity checks, testing and maybe some design work for reuse of materials from the scrapped ship.

And keeping the old class name is great. You're right, it is trivial, but makes it easier when I'm constantly changing things up. Will ships ever cost maintenance? And if so, could that be linked into their age?

The feature is in now. It saves class name and commissioning date for each ship.

Ship costs are represented by the resupply cost, and repair if they get damaged. Resupply costs might get tweaked in the future, but there will be no separate maintenance costs. I doubt that well maintained military ships in real life suddenly start costing significantly more money as they get older, unless we are talking about decades since they were built.

Wow! You work fast.

As for the costs of ships, unfortunately they are just like cars... the costs start to add up as time goes by. I'm actually writing this from my phone in a conference room on a Naval base on the East Coast. That being said, I'm Army and not Navy. Further, not trying to convince you! Just tossing out suggestions :-)

I don't have a time frame for you. I have build queues on my big, big todo list, but apart from that, all I can say is that it's not going to be in 0.31.
