That's a funny image. What's that?

Well, I used a hold block to specify a ship inventory, then harvested blocks using the blowtorch tool. The game automatically found an appropriate inventory space for these blocks, and moved them there for me. This is the inventory filling up as I harvest blocks!

The next step is to make a menu that'll allow me to place these blocks out from my ship's inventory.

Cheers!

Can't wait to see these holds filling up with glorious ore! $_$

I worked a little on that today, Insolent : ) Basically made a couple backends for the asteroid generation system, so that I can generate asteroids with realistic material distributions.

Cheers!

Fantastic! I'm sure that will be a constant process of tweaking the ore types and levels, as it will directly impact the game's future economy. For now, any random amount of ore will do!

Do you factor in rarity yet?

Looking at the medical closet, shall it be possible to have multiple items/objects in 1 block? Like haveing multiple medical closets stored in the amount of joint voxels instead of a block based storage system.
Is this even possible engine whise?

It's not currently possible, no. However, various objects fake this system - For example, the gun racks act like each gun is a unique object, as do the spacesuit racks.

Basically, you fake it on the block level, with multiple different blocks, rather than trying to define smaller groups of voxels as meaningful.

Cheers!

Aah, so the engine does everything on the block level, the voxels are simulated, but cannot have their own material value, heating value, or meaning value. But does that mean that it isn't possible to break a glass panel of a computer easily, without having the whole computer break easily. Nor could you sabotage a cable inside a block level based system, since the colored cable is for show. I wonder, could this block level faking system be used for the hold, like being able to have smaller blocks of the same type inside 1 block. They shall lose their value, but its more realistic then saying the hold is full while you could stand inside it.

Anyway, Once I am planning to have a look at your programing when this is done, its verry interesting to see how you got this to work properly, lets hope I'am able to understand it.
