Savage 2: A Tortured Soul takes the best of the FPS, RTS, and RPG genres and blends them seamlessly into an extremely addictive and complex experience. Anyone who's seen the game in action knows that each match is full of possibilities for epic moments and amazing displays of skill and strategy. Take the reigns as your team's commander from an overhead RTS perspective with superior strategic insight -- or join them on the field from a mixed action RPG and FPS view with a wide array of powerful classes and carve your path to victory.

Why isn't the strategic/strategy view shown? ("RTS"?)

Yes, but 's shown too rarely... :-)

... i.e. should be featured continuously, it's very to be a commander, even more if players aren't that forgiving. (One time I was even a witness to someone's insulting a commander)

I've forgotten.

Someone really SHOULD make a "commander's sandbox" or "commander's playground" or something like that, i.e. unlimited-time practice mode as a commander solely (maybe with Conjurer/Builder mode).

'cause the tutorial with commander's section doesn't provide enough experience of commanding, i.e. doesn't make accustomed to commander's mode - it ends too quickly!
That's why we have a good (or rather 'bad') deal of poor, 1-level, commanders. If they could at least practiced for some more time before practicing in 'real' battles...
