Command & Conquer Red Alert 2: Apocalypse Rising, brings Westwood Studios' popular real time strategy game, C&C: Red Alert 2 into the FPS pespective, using the w3d engine. You will be able to experience, first hand, what it feels like to fill the boots of an Allied GI battling the communist might of the Soviet Union, or a Soviet Conscript vowing to take back what was lost to the Allies during the first great war. Classic units return such as the versatile Allied IFV to the mighty Soviet Apocalypse Assault Tank to the gargantuan Allied Aircraft Carrier to the mad Giant Squids. This game features all of the units and structures for the Allied and Soviet sides from both RA2 and the Yuri's Revenge Expansion. The Apocalypse is Rising Commander. Are you prepared for it? Just like the original; still looks like a tug boat with a Flak 88 slapped on the back.

i like all the models so far but this goes way too much into the red alert 3 kind of bad over the top stylized units...

The Sea Scorpion was always a pretty crazy unit.

I think he meant that on original pic from RA2 Sea Scorpion was less...bulky.

Can you not make it a Hydrofoil like the Concept Art?

Obviously it won't have missiles like the Concept Art but a Hydrofoil body would help explain the Sea Scorpions in game speed while enhancing it's Aesthetic.

We wanted to make it as accurate to RA2 as possible, so although we did take elements from the Hydrofoil, we kept the ship largely the same.

will infantry be able to ride it? AA vehicles/ ships are awfully specialized for an FPS so it might be nice to add a machine gun or 2, or perhaps allow it to be used as a ferry

We could certainly look into it if ship to ship combat proves to be a problem. :)

Description

Don't adjust your monitors, because you are reading it right! The Soviets are invading the seas thanks to Romanov! He has been working on the Sea Scorpion and Typhoon Attack Sub!

We were originally going to include naval units in a later patch, but we decided that we could implement a couple of soviet units to decorate certain maps with (although the Sea Scorpions might serve as ai defences on some maps to protect against Harrier attacks from the sea).

Sea Scorpions can decimate Allied Ospreys, Harriers, Hornets and Rocketeers rapidly with their flak cannon. In numbers, they are a match against a destroyer. With their speed and superb vision range, they can also search the open waters in no time. However, they are relatively frail, so shore defenses or destroyers can pick them off easily. Having no defense against underwater threats also makes them vulnerable to Dolphins.

Romanov has paid attention to the details on the ingame model as well as the concept art for the hydrofoil; a unit that would later become the Sea Scorpion. As a patrol boat, the Sea Scorpion is fitted with a flashlight as well as it's powerful flak cannon! Expect this ship to pack a punch!
