Overgrowth takes place in the savage world of Lugaru where rabbits, wolves and other animals are forced to use paws, claws and medieval weaponry to engage each other in battle. Combining 3rd person adventure platforming with intricate melee combat, Overgrowth achieves a unique feel. Overgrowth also benefits from Wolfire's brand new Phoenix Engine which has been built from the ground up to allow the use of cutting edge graphics, animation, and physics. Add to these exciting features Overgrowth’s realistic artificial intelligence and streamlined control system and the result is an astoundingly immersive experience.

Here is the latest in our new weekly Overgrowth alpha format! David himself took some time to illustrate the traditional changelog in video form.

Don't forget that you can help support us, try out our weekly alphas (such as the one in the video), and chat with other preorderers in the Secret Preorder Forum by preordering Overgrowth.

Be sure to watch it in HD!

The features highlighted in the above video are as follows (among some extra ones thrown in for good measure):

- Testing animated textures with tga sequence and theora video
- Set up VTune profiler with frames and thread labels
- Fixed occlusion query and FBO bottleneck
- Disabled tilted head-look on wolf

Thanks as always for all the support! See you guys in IRC and the forums.

Also, feel free to support us by preordering Overgrowth!

There's hardly anything on MODDB that I enjoy quite as much as my weekly Overgrowth fix ^_^ Even if it was a bit short today.

I doubly concur.

Just about every log has something new in it to be interested in. Which I think for a small developer shows a hell of alot of hard work and research is going into this project.

Keep it up wolfire!

Can I triply concur XD

Love these videos, whenever I see a new one, always drop what I'm doing
and start watching. Loved the old style of alpha videos with the
dramatic voices and stuff, but this style is good too. Enjoy your videos
every time, even if its a small update ^_^

Each video is convincing me more and more to pre-order, but the price
still seems a little steep for an unfinished product. I am interested
and will keep watching. Maybe they'll blow me away with something
that'll just force me to instantly pre-order. Wolfire games, you guys
rock!!!!!!!

I am alway watching forward to tuesday, because you usually release your weekly update news on this day (for me in germany it is tuesday morning). I enjoy nothin more then seeing something is changing step by step (I am an update fanatic xD Seeing changes makes me euphoric xD).
Because of this I love this weekly alpha update(-video) and I think other mod or indie developers should start doing the same because it is so... I do not know how to write what I feel... Even in my own language I am out of words for this crazy feeling...

If you look at the Overgrowth Title banner at the top, and focus on the mountain peak towards the middle of it, does anyone else see a rabbit facing the side? lol

Now I have to ask... is Far Cry 2 style procedural fire something you guys are looking at?
