Minecraft is a sandbox construction game created by Mojang AB. It's development started around the 10th of May 2009. Pre-orders for the full game started being accepted on the 13th of June, 2009.
Minecraft is a game about placing blocks to build anything you can imagine. At night monsters come out, make sure to build a shelter before that happens. It also has music by C418.
I've renamed the old version of the game "Minecraft Classic", and will be slowly phasing it out. I won't remove it, though. Just hide it.

Little late to the party, but here you all go.
No doubt, lot of people will bend over letting Mojang screw them with Sub fees. Not meant to offend, but hey, the truth hurts.
Why not add a hat system? all money issues for Mojang = solved
I learned media for the last few years, but I thought that news sites blowing up rumours and giving them really eye-catching headlines is a well known fact.
Go on that page again and search for (Ctrl+F) the comment written by "SpaceGhost2K" He explains the real deal quite well.
But you can tell this is false if we use common sense and logic. If Minecraft would be pay-to-play I'm pretty sure they would lost about half of their buyers (if not more) and the number of pirates would rise dramatically. They aren't stupid and respect their fans.
Minecraft has grown so much since I last saw it...
sniff... I remember the first time playing alpha back in 2010
I remember buckets, finite water and doors being added.
oh, and when the entire redstone system, with buttons, pressure pads, levers and iron doors, were released. that was a major day. I was so excited.
it was around then demonic-sounding cows, and chickens, were added. back when zombies still dropped feathers.

people sure do bitch about new stuff. there has never been a problem with any single player game using a local server for it. stop whining. and of course it only takes 3-4 years for people to get upset when something is improved

Firstly, why would anyone who wants to play a 3D open sandbox now suddenly decide it sucks and should play a 2D Terraria clone instead. Secondly, how much HDD space you got that you needed to delete all Minecraft files for that Starhound or whatever? 100 MB? Minecraft is like 55 MB on my computer with no mods.
And most importantly it's a snapshot, the offical patch won't be out till it is free from (most) bugs, so my guess is that the average user won't even notices any difference by then.
Go troll somewhere else and take your cheap advertising with you.
