About the Game
In Kommissar, you take the rôle of a regime commissar. A perfect designed gear for the machine of peace & wealth utopia.
Your duty and commitment is to lead the Ministry of Truth and to keep the Independent City-State of Roulettenburg united under the regime's iron fist.
Mobilize its agents, neutralize the insurgents in the districts, interrogate the suspects and watch out for your fellow citizens whilst capturing dissidents all for the glory of your fatherland.
Developers Note
The first version of Kommissar was an experimental concept developed during the #1GAM challenge. You can try it at Gamejolt: Kommissar - #1GAM Version
The project has made us think a lot. Society, moral, values, fears… at the moment in the world we see a lot of behaviour and arguments that make us fear of falling over the same mistakes again. We are, of course, big fans of Orwell's work about Spanish Civil War, Animal Farm or 1984, not make any direct wink or mention to it would be for us a crime!
In summary, it was an amazing and exciting challenge, and we got a warm wellcome and fantastic feedback from the Gamejolt community. Thanks to them we decided to continue and develop further the whole game concept.

Inspired by Papers, Please?
Totally! We really like the work of Lucas Pope with "Papers, Please" as well as his previous titles. We also got inspired by Orwell's "1984", "Animal farm", his notes about the Spanish Civil war, and his thrilling vision about the world.
But in Kommissar we want to tell an story through a different point of view. Not just a citizen doing his job, but a believer on a system that is about to collapse. You command an office of the "Ministry of Truth", your job as you can guess is to make every body have a global thought as the "truth" wich is being told by the government, and for that purpose, you will have to use all the tools in your hand, or even develop new ones.
We hope you guys like the game and it inspires more debate!
