Development of Io has been cancelled. The first version can be downloaded though. Io is a puzzle platformer with a unique mechanic; a clay gun that can add and remove geometry in specific areas on each levels. The clay gun is used to solve puzzles throughout the game. Io is developed by three Swedish college students.

It's about time we put together a video showcasing all the changes we've made:

It may be hard to discern from the video, but as you start you're dropped into the game instantaneously and the level will begin loading in the background, as you play. In the video we're also showing a new clay gun and a bomb item using the new inventory system.

No enemies yet, and still a lot of programmer art(and yeah, that running animation is a little clunky and never ever stops right now); so look forward to what's in store! :)

Actually, come to think of it. This game looks, and reminds me a lot of a small indie game that came out a while ago called Celestial Impact. It was the same kind of idea, that you could manipulate the ground around you.

Yea, you know, I was kind of bummed about how unsuccessful that game was. It looked so cool. I was following it until the day it came out, and it didn't get that good of a score. :\ I was for sure bummed about that.

Reminds me of Celestial Impact, which is a great game, and a great thing to be reminded of!

Wow this actually looks pretty amazing. One question, are you going to make it so bits of terrain that are disconnected have physics and fall to the ground. Cause that could would be more realistic and could also possibly be used to create some interesting puzzles.

Anyway I will tracking this as I would very much like to see some more content from it.
