The Inquisitor is a dark role-playing game. Prepare for a medieval drama with maximum style and great emphasis on details. It brings you, a medieval inquisitor, to a gloomy world full of heresy, betrayal and devilish plots. You will hunt after perpetrators of the most atrocious crimes and you will meet a lot of cunning enemies. You will find yourself in the midst of a powerful conspiracy striving to destroy even the foundations of the thousand-year old Empire.
The game follows the investigation of various crimes, and players aim to expose malefactors, gain evidence against them and to prove them guilty in court, using both the canon law and the secular law of the Empire. One of the most important laws is the Inquisitional codex which lays down the rules and principles of the inquisitional process. And it’s the codex that governs your methods and action while hunting for heretics and witches who threaten the whole Empire with their obscure plots.

I was sort of on the fence on buying this game, until I read this guy's experience with the gameplay.

I consider such gameplay too much of a chore, which is too bad, as the game sounds excellent otherwise...And no, stun-locks and mandatory potion chugging is not difficult, just tedious...
This game is in dire need of a community-made mod to (at the very least) fix up on the frustrating pre-diablo1 combat system. Spell casting is also broken. Other than that the game's premise and story content is so immersive and brilliantly atmospheric! Would be such a waste to have it rot away due to lazy programming and technical imbalances.
In regards to the combat system i would suggest a more tactical approach i.e. turn-based. It doesnt necessarily even need to be that rigid, a compromise could also work example: a combat pause option to give time to view the battle and prepare more fluently on the selection and casting of spells.
Any small amount of fixes would make this already brilliant game simply perfect!

Stellar game, challenging and perfect for people who really appreciate story and a challenge. I've barely started playing it really, however I'm engrossed already. Good work!
You are totally right, but for me the Challenge is too hard, because I am more used to Battle focused RPG. The Athmosphere of this Game, the Graphics, really great. But Sometimes I just wish to kill lots of Enemies, do some Quest just by talking to someone, following an Arrow on the Minimap and come back for a reward. Maybe in the Future, I am taking the Challenge. By Now, I reached about 22 Levels with the Paladin, but it was a really long term and I solved most Quests with pure Luck and trying all possible Dialogues.
