The Inquisitor is a dark role-playing game. Prepare for a medieval drama with maximum style and great emphasis on details. It brings you, a medieval inquisitor, to a gloomy world full of heresy, betrayal and devilish plots. You will hunt after perpetrators of the most atrocious crimes and you will meet a lot of cunning enemies. You will find yourself in the midst of a powerful conspiracy striving to destroy even the foundations of the thousand-year old Empire.

The game follows the investigation of various crimes, and players aim to expose malefactors, gain evidence against them and to prove them guilty in court, using both the canon law and the secular law of the Empire. One of the most important laws is the Inquisitional codex which lays down the rules and principles of the inquisitional process. And it’s the codex that governs your methods and action while hunting for heretics and witches who threaten the whole Empire with their obscure plots.

Ultherst was once a peaceful, God-fearing land until the Three Scourges of God came to pass as foretold by Saint Ezekiel, one of the twelve followers of the First Prophet. First came the famine that devastated the populace. Next came the plague that added more unfortunate souls on Death’s abacus. Finally came the great rain of fire, and death fell down on sinner and innocent alike, blood flooding the streets in place of water. The people, in their desperation, turned away from the Holy Mother Church and delved deep into pagan decadence or succumbed to the temptation of the Devil. You have been charged with the office of Inquisitor. It is up to you to investigate crimes against the one true faith and root out heresy--using any and all means necessary. Inquisitor is a unique blend of action-oriented combat with a deep and involving tale of betrayal, torture, madness, and infernal damnation.

Enjoy Inquisitor and many other great games on Desura.

Will there be a sale on Desura? The game is currently $3.74 on GOG, but I like my games on Desura. Please give us a sale here too!

I feel the same. I like to have my games on a client so I passed on the GOG sale. However if this game was on sale here I would definitely buy it without hesitation.

It's kind of a shame that Desura doesn't really push sales the way that Steam or GOG do. I get that they want to take a hands off approach and leave everything up to the developers themselves but I feel like that ends up with them forgetting about this place most of the time.

I bought it today after a long hesitation, but now all my doubts are gone : this game feels like old school RPG classics like Baldur's Gate but with an even more deep background and great writing. I'm amazed just by the fact that every npc has its own lines of dialogues, as opposed to a certain "arrow to the knee" effect. Now I can't wait to explore every pixel of that universe !

The level of detail is absolutely amazing. I can't wait for this game to be Greenlit ! Or maybe I won't stand the wait and just buy it twice ...

I like this, BUT, the character animations really need some work. It just doesn't look very fluid at all. If the animations were smoother and felt more natural it would be a work of art.
