I restored 90% of the polygons on the M4, It's one whole model now.
This was something that I had wanted to do for a long time now.
It's not perfect, the filled polygons are mostly mirrored from
the original polygons with no new textures. However, I believe
this can serve as a great base for any other modders who want
to make re-animations without having to worry about the new
poses exposing missing polygons. I haven't filled 100% of the
missing polygons as there are some near the magazine hold, I
didn't create the internals since that would be too much effort
for something that will certainly be never seen. There are a few
UV map issues, some subtle some blatant, but they aren't too
visible.
You can use these for your mods and re-animations,
as long as I am credited fairly for creating the
polygon-restored M4.
FOR PEOPLE WHO DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING
to have these in-game for either Base Half-Life, Opposing Force or Blue Shift:
Create a folder in "Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life" either called
valve_addon (HL1)
gearbox_addon (Opfor)
bshift_addon (Blue Shift)
inside create another folder called "models" then place the model you want In-game
(for opfor or bshift make sure to delete the opfor/bshift part of the model name.
It should work, however there is very little visual difference as It uses the original
animations (besides some changes like fixing the grenade animation and reload animation)
(p.s these are HD pack models, so make sure to have HD models enabled when in-game!)
