Nice work. However I am not able to run it. Using gzdoom 3.3

Script error, "GZD Liquids Pack.pk3:gldefs" line 6:
Error parsing defs. Unknown tag: material.

i downloaded this file and tried it myself to make sure everything is working. and i have no issues with the pack, only thing i can think of is you are loading another file after the texture patch? i also downloaded gzdoom 3.3.1 and still works fine, try just loading doom and this texture pack with zdl loader.

Is there the best MAP to try normalmap and specular on this mod?
Moreover, it seems that the background of the wall surface is not applied.

sure would like to see this mod evolve. the water/liquids in old doom need it.

Is there somewhere I could try version 1? Or could you make a ZIP with both and let the user decide?

I get no waves like the guy above (or like in BD)

you need to update the screenshots. It looks GREAT now! Really well done.

I can't really tell there is a glow on the texture. (was using GZDoom WAD) Would be extra cool if there were a thin layer of fog on slime/lava. Any chance you could slow down the animation? The liquid looks very agitated and in most places in doom it is just sitting there.

Also there are errors when loading it with DOOM classic in the startup console.

Thanks for this... great touch to Doom.

Ok thanks.

I didn't use GZDoom version on zandronum of course. It works as you see in my screenshots. Maybe I just leave that version for gzdoom. Zandronum doesn't have shaders. Version 1.1 looked good in zandronum. But I would like alternative patterns (eg. like in 1.0 screenshots)

Cheers

no problem, i made a shader pack as well to add a small glow effect to the textures to give them a new effect. for some reason tho the effect causes all the sprites to go full bright that's why i made it separate so you can choose to use it or not.

Would it be much work to give it a blue theme? Would make for better compatiblity with other mods. Steamcommunity.com (thats BD water ripple effects in Free Doom 2 campaign, running your latest version)

In version 1.1 the water looked at least like.. well it looked blue Steamcommunity.com

btw, I don't really need the ripple effect. I could just disable it. But i can't stand that the waterfall is in a completely different color. Just hard to ignore. I didn't have that impression with version 1.1

Question, does this addition make liquids look 3D when in reality it's like an optical effect?

well i am playing alien vendetta right now and i see that there is a shader pack included which look really nice but i found that there are places with vertical water which are not replaced by liquid pack :( so it looks a little off because i'm looking at water which look nice on flat surface but those vertical textures ruined the overall look.

yea i knew this would be a issue for users, the problem is the original doom games never actually had water/slime and lava fall textures in them ( even i was surprised they did not make them originally ), the only waterfall style textures that doom has are the nukadge and blood fall textures, and it would be quite time consuming to go through all the popular custom wads out there, that use non original waterfall type textures. for mappers that want to use these textures i have made a resource file to be used in GZDB which have the extra waterfall type of textures so they can apply them to the maps that they are working on. that's why i still ended up making the waterfall/lavafall/slimefall textures. maybe in the future ill ask around for the popular wads that people play. but for now i am working on my next project that wont even use these textures. i just felt responsible to finish what i started on.

frstly, awesome work.
Any chance to download v1? (or alternate bright ight green version of nukage as stand alone?)

The light glowing green (nuclear) colour of Nukage is prefered and fits with the barrels (since brutal doom eday)

incredible. My only gripe is the water animation is like a fast moving river. Most liquid in Doom is in areas where it would be much more still. It seems like something that looked like slowly rising/lowering fluid would work better in most situations than a fixed direction quick flow. Any chance to get that animation as an option? If you look at Doom E1M1 or Doom2 Map02 the flowing water is moving from side to side vs the length you'd expect and it makes you notice the direction more than the awesome effect.

Regardless, really well done.

I absolutely love it. It's universal, easy to load and looks stunning. I use it with Brutal Doom on multiple maps and those liquid textures always make the maps look better. Sure, there might be occasional issues with the maps using their own liquid textures, but nothing can be done about that.
Great work pal, it's incredible!

Can you do a low res version of 5.0? I really like the effects but it's too "HD" and it clashes heavily with vanilla Doom textures
