Diaspora is a space combat game set in the new Battlestar Galactica universe. You can fly as the Colonials or as the Cylons in a variety of multiplayer and single player missions. Experience every single battle in the show from the cockpit of a viper or Raptor or view things from glowing red-eyed viewpoint of a Cylon Raider.

Here's a treat you should all fancy.

Newman's been working hard on the new Basestar model for some months now and the results speak for themselves. At 120 000 tris and three 2048x2048 textures she's something to behold.

All shots are ingame. Enjoy.

I was curious, how do you plan to do(if) a cockpit for the cylon fighters( i forget the proper name for it) as there's a big brain-thing in the "cockpit area"

A cylon raider doesn't see it's brain and innards any more then any human or animal does. It has an equivalent of "eyes", therefore it sees space directly in front of it the way any animal with eyes would.

Perhaps it could be like how it was seen at the end of the first season, that is if it is flown by a human pilot

Raiders weren't really meant to be piloted by humans, the only time this ever happened was when Starbuck did it. If we were to do it like that in the game, we'd either need to invent a reason for the player to be doing it, which is problematic in it's own rite because a)it's fanwanking and b) you can't see anything from that "cockpit", or make the player Starbuck for that mission, which would also be a bit weird and break immersion. That doesn't meant that the raider won't get it's own "cockpit", but it will be done in a way the raider would see in combat, not those piles of goo and brains - that would be rather silly.

It's getting colder, it rains outside - perfect time to fire up Diaspora and join some nuggets in unknown space...if only there was a demo! I can't wait and hope you're going for a first release in October. So looking forward to finally flying a raptor. How many years has it been since BTRL started me fantasizing about this...I even kept that bloody avatar forever.
