Daggerfall: Red Gauntlet - is a text mod for the Elder Scrolls II game! This classic RPG is notable for its enormity – being large and ambitious even by standards of the later games, even if it’s visually clunky today. This file is a self contained .exe all you have to do is click the file and the game will download and run on any version of windows 98, XP, 7, and 8! You do not need dosbox or any other external program... just Click and Play!
Starting off in Daggerfall can overwhelm the senses. No other game has such a huge world to explore. Travel around a land mass twice the size of Great Britain, exploring dungeons, castles, tombs, and even alternative dimensions. Just to walk from one end of the world to the other will take over 2 full weeks in real-time (we actually tested this!) Converse with over 750,000 characters that inhabit this world. Daggerfall is a game that sets new boundaries with over 200 hours of gameplay.
You start at the bottom of Privateer's Hold. In general, just keep going up. The first room after the cave has a rat in it. You can fight the creature or just run past it up the stairs. To take the quickest exit, follow the corridor around, go up the second set of stairs and into the room with a U shaped table. Keep in mind that exploring this dungeon fully can be quite profitable.
The door to the left leads to the throne room. There are two ways to go from here. At the top is a skeleton, which can be tough opponent for many characters. Once it is disposed of, climb onto the platform and click on the lever beside it. The platform will ride up to the balcony overhead.
Once on the balcony, follow the corridor up and around. Enter the first door on the right. This big room contains three monsters - a rat, a bat, and an imp. If you are clever, you can get the imp to kill one of the other two with a spell. If you are quick, you can race past all three and click on the gray stone exit arch-way on the right hand wall. Voila, you are out of the privateer's hold dungeon! Open the world map and search for ... Daggerfall.
